Best of luck to the lads today-I hear christy Moore gave the Kildare hurlers a mention at his concert in Derry....if only Derry had the backing of Phil Coulter! Good luck to the 4 Na Magha lads on the panel-Doire Abu

Good result for the hurlers against Kildare at the weekend, I see we have drew Wicklow again in the next round, we drew with them at the start of the league and by all accounts they were lucky with that result, we really could be doing with a win against them now, but that won't be easy especially away from home, so good luck lads.

Folks lets get out and support the hurlers this Saturday in Celtic Park. The level of hurling played in the Christy Ring is very good and the lads dont get the support they deserve. They are probably the county's best chance of making Croker this year.

"They are probably the county's best chance of making Croker this year -Christy Sting" Well Well Well Christy Sting that was speak of the week right there! Ita time to forget about it and follow the footballers i don't want to see some of these hurlers crawling back to Owenbeg with a tail between their legs looking a game for Brennan

brolly- that's the spirit, get behind your county. It's boys like you that would make you embarassed that you're from Derry

embarrassed what are you on about do your homework b4 slinging mud, i do get behind our county no one more committed to the oak leaf cause, i travel the length and breath of ireland paying my money at the gates supporting and cheering on derry. win loose or draw i keeping on going, always proud to wear the oak leaf on my chest. its boys like me that wave the flag when others sit on there computers and bitch and moan

Well if your earlier comments weren't bitching and moaning then I don't know what is. Your remarks about the Derry hurlers were snide and not reflective of a supporter but of someone taking pleasure in their defeat.

i didn't like being called an embarrassment and feel that was a very harsh throw away comment as i bleed oakleaf red and have been a avid supporter of Derry all my life and continue to do so unlike many who never turn out in support of our great county and would rather stay at home and be a keyboard bainisteoir rather than getting out and cheering on the county. Nothing matters more to me sporting wise than seeing Derry perform at the highest standard, this is why i felt offend at the comment. I was merely getting at the quote "are our best chance of getting to croke park" to be honest i felt that was sly and belittled the footballers. i have no ill feeling towards hurling in Derry and i wish the boys well in the ulster championship clash with the orchard county.

brolly- how could you possibly construe my comment as being sly? You need to catch yourself on boy. This isnt about hurling v football, although you would seem to like it to be. The reality was that Derry were 2 games away from Croke Park, and they were favourites for the London game, so in my opinion it was the county's best chance of getting to Croke Park. I follow the footballers too but you cant be telling me that you expect them to go to the final in Croke this year, I would dearly love that but it is a long shot. They might get there in the qualifiers but I doubt Croke Park woud want that as we are probably the worst travelling supporters in the country.
Now stop gloating, it is not welcome in the GAA by true Gaels.

i agree we have the worst support in all of ulster and need all the backing we can get. i feel we have a good group of talented minors this year and a great team of brian and paul mcivor behind them, that have the back bone of the st. pats team that got to the macrory final, they kick start their campaign this saturday and i hope they can go far, croker not out of their reach.
