Ideas to progress hurling in the county..

(Oldest Posts First)

Ye may have read lately that 6 counties met with the GAA President to try and hopefully get one of them into an All Ireland quarter or semi in the next 10 years. Realistic? Anyone ideas on it? I think we trashed out something on this before..

i think we need to combine counties, a few options would be a carlow laois team maybe even add kildare to that, wicklow could go in with wexford possibly, westmeath and offaly would make a fine team, an ulster team would be very strong, the problem with carlow and other small counties is the dept of talent is too small, this would solve it, for it to work though we would have to fully join with each other from underage up including club, it might take a few year but i could see some very strong teams emerge

Doubt if many Wexford players would get on the Wicklow team.

I think the idea to not to combine but to succeed on our own..
