Joe "Ref Dubs A v B games" McQuillan.

Is he still doing that?

McQuillan is a good ref, I dont think there is any issue with him. The only people that have a consistent gripe with him is Kerry, re the 2011 final. But in fairness, i think that the standard of refing this year has improved massively, there are fewer flash points, and the black card issue seems to be leveling off at last.

@TheMaster

Sure didnt he let Mayo feign injury for the 2nd half in 2012.

Joe McQuillan will do Dublin no favours... thats guaranteed.

I thought Mayo were in with a chance until I heard Sky Blue Joe McQuillan was the ref. Expect AOS to be repeatedly dragged down in the box and then sent off for barging.

He had a shocker in 2012. After Horan insinuated he was reffing Dublins in house games he didnt give Dublin a sniff of a decision.
The free count has been hugely in favour of Mayo in the last two championship meetings.

Which frees weren't actually frees though? Maybe Dublin just foul a lot? Wasn't it the same in a few of the games this year re free count? In games not reffed by mcquillan... Stop fouling and your free count with be better.

As for letting mayo feign injury, again who? Every single guy who needed treatment for mayo on the day was substituted - that isn't an exaggeration either, watch the game back, it is accurate. Now maybe it is just me, but I don't consider replacing your starting 15 with poorer players for the sake of it to be a successful tactical ploy... In that period Dublin got back into the game. But sure keep telling yourself you were cheated, don't let the fact that you were completely outplayed over the rest of the game and deserved to lose come into it at any point. Maybe mention brogan's goal chance, while ignoring the 3 even better goal chances mayo missed again, that is usually a fan favourite.

Not to mention McQuillan's performance in the Dublin-Tyrone game in 2011

JayP, if you take placed balls out of it Mayo's 2012 winning margin is 2 points higher. Funny how the facts contradict your argument. Only for Joe McQ the winning margin would have been greater, he did all he could bar putting the ball over the bar for ye. He owes us a fair game and that's all we ask for.

Did you read ClondalkinDubs link there!

Mayo feigned injury. There was only 17 minutes of play in the 2nd half. Mayo players just lay on the ground time wasting.

But sure, keep telling yourself that it didnt happen.

Come on all teams have decisions go with and against them. Mayo were the better team on the day in 2012 and Dublin were the better team in 2013. Yawn if this is what will be debated for the next 2 weeks.

Pressure is mounting on the dubs already. The Herald will have 24 page pull out editions from now until the 30th of August. Hon Mayo!!!

I don't really care what darragh o'se has to say, he is just another guy with an opinion, on this occasion a poorly researched one. People were quick enough to turn on him when he was talking about ruffling Diarmuid Connolly's feathers a few weeks back.

It is as simple as this, name the players who were going down injured and were not substituted. If they were all substituted - and they were, then where does the feigning injury come in? Those are the cold facts of the so called injury feigning, they all came off the field and were replaced.

1766315 How Dublin handle Aidan O'Se will be the key to this game.

The Dublin management will be burning the midnight oil over the next couple of weeks

I'm sure there's footage readily available that will ensure he's liable for an 8 week ban. Problem solved.
