There will a few sad heads in Newry tonight, dreaming of past glories and harsh realities

Job done, well done boys, that was the performance we were meant to have last Sunday, good use of the bench this evening and defence tightened up so all in all a good evening.

Down folk, time to dust down those satnavs!

The best team won, down very disappointing. was obvious which team RTE Radio was promoting, shear love for down and complete distain for the mighty red hands. But who cares about the haters we March on and the aristocrats go back to the drawing board

I posted yesterday about the RTE commentary but for some mysterious reason my post was censored.
Are radio commentators and co-comentators not supposed to be neutral?
Marty Morrissey wasnt too bad but Tommy Carr was biased beyond belief. Marty did blether on about Down and got very excited every time they did anything positive but Carr was totally preoccupied with the Mournemen. His analysis consisted of what Down were doing wrong, how they could improve and how they should be playing. It was as if Tyrone were only there to make up the numbers. You can understand that on a local radio station but on a supposedly 'national' radio station it is inexcusable.

Marty's commentary too left something to be desired. He must have thought he was doing a TV commentary. There were a lot of gaps in his description of the proceedings and on more than one occasion he missed important developments in the game while he was rambling on about the past glories of Down, the legend that is Benny Coulter, the atmosphere in the Marshes etc. He should also stop trying to copy RTE commentators that have gone before. END !!!!

Poor oul Marty, not feeling the love this morning!!

It will be more of the same this afternoon as nice bright new Derry are gushed over while negative, football ruining Donegal are tut tutted over.

Never thought I would be in agreement with paranoid Tyrone men, but this morning I am.

There's no doubt about it, Down were average last night. Tyrone were the deserved winners. They played like a Division 1 team; we played like a Division 3 team.

However, the arrogance of some Tyrone supporters on this site is unbelievable. Do you remember what it was like before you won 3 All Irelands? The arrogance of your goalkeeper is going to get him into serious trouble. You might win Ulster and you might reach AI semis but that's it.

I would take an ulster title and an all ireland semi anyday!

Have to agree about RTE commentary. I was tuning in and out every few minutes and you would swear Down we're running away with the match the excitement in the commentators voices every time they had the ball, then when I checked the scoreline Tyrone were pretty comfortable throughout. Anyway on to tyrone against ourselves in Clones. Promises to be tasty.

This would be our goalkeeper who saved a penalty and was 3/3 from placed balls outside the 45? Yes, he enjoys running up the field at times, and yes it will cost us a crucial goal at some stage, but that's his style and any mistake that he may make will always be more than balanced out by the amount of scores he creates. takes and saves.

And instead of giving off about Morgan and Tyrone supporters, you might want to comment on James McCartan jumping up and down in front of the assistant referee like a crazed monkey when a decision went against him, or Benny Coulter who wanted to do nothing except fight when he came onto the field.

Tyrone played well last night. We were properly dialled in from start to finish, and pretty much did what we should have done the first day. We were still far too wasteful in front of goals and should have won by much more, but I was very pleased with the intensity of the performance.

I said it last night and I'll say it again the RTE commentary was an absolute disgrace, It was so biased towards the Down team any thing the ref gave Tyrone including the penalty they criticized, funny when a county manager does the same there called negative but when a National broadcaster does the same nothing is said. Anyhow well done Tyrone the extra game might have been a blessing as for Morgan I'd take arrogance any day if he keeps chipping in 3 -4 points a game also he's a superb shot stopper probably the best in Ireland,,, Hon Tyrone Total faith......

Imagine what a shut year that would be only winning ulster and reaching an all Ireland semi, I'd take that right now if it was offered a lot of down folk seem to think everyone in Tyrone are convinced we will win all Ireland's every year but most if us although confident in our team are realistic enough. An awful lot if down folk seem to have a real dislike for Tyrone which goes beyond the football field I really don't get it.

Well done to Tyrone, although to the Tyrone poster above complaining about the RTE commentary of your penalty - that may have been because it was no way a penalty, I was infront of it and saw nothing, the Tyrone players didn't even appeal for it!

Tyrone could regret not getting the job done the first day before the summer is out.

Why do you think that naysayer? There's arguments to be made for and against but I'd take the extra game to be fair.
