1585772 Tyrone and Derry will win the whole thing. People talking monaghan up a bit to much here. They won division 2, we have seen before what comes after this. Tyrone should beat Down and hit the ground rnning against monaghan
Sorry, we also are the current Ulster Champions and only for an absolutely disgraceful rugby tackle, that in my opinion warrented a minimum 3 month ban, by Sean Cavanagh we had the beating of yous last year too. Who knows, we could have achieved more silverware last year only for Tyrone cheating.

Dont be worrying about the Tyrone lads, we will be waiting for the winners and if it is Tyrone this could be the best time to beat them with or without Mcmanus.
What I don't want to listen to is the Cavan poster talking about bottle. They won every game in Division 3 and then blew it in the final because they didnt have the bottle to beat them on the big day. Same as the Under 21s couldnt beat Dublin so they whine about the referee performance if they were good enough they would have beaten them on the score board but they have to play 13 men behind the ball at all stages.
Lets see how they do against Armagh who will be up for it this year.

Before the League I would have picked tyrone to win this one well, not so convinced now.
Down had a decent enough league campaign think they beat Donegal and drew with monaghan, I think they will really put it up to Tyrone.
I don't think Tyrone will have this one all there own way.
Still fancy Tyrone by a couple of Pts.

I have just have a sneaky feeling for down, there is not a word about them, and I believe James Mc caftan would not have stayed around if he thought they could not win something, they have a full panel, they play very defensive and Tyrone usually struggle against this system as there last 3 encounters suggests this, then again Tyrone are at home and extremely difficult to beat in Omagh, so I'm gonna say it will be a draw with Down winning the replay......

No need for the insults man. Yes we had every chance of winning Sam only Tyrone decided to cheat. If Cavanagh hadn't rugby tackled McManus we would have made a semi final. Teams who reach a semi final of a competition are usually considered to have a good chance of winning the competition.

I really wish the Monaghan supporters would get over the rugby tackle on Darren Hughes, yous lost the game, move on................. You don't hear us still moaning about Stephen gallogly's tackle on Mark Mc Hugh in last years final, spent two nights in hospital, Darren Hughes didn't suffer any injuries.....

How is Cavan's poor show against Roscommon got anything to do with Monaghan's chances against Tyrone/Down?
The evidence for what I'm saying is there for all to see... QF 2012- lose against a ropey Tyrone team in Croke Park Ulster 2012 - blow a 9 point lead against Down Ulser finals 2007 and 2010 - wiped out by Tyrone despite all the talk beforehand Ulster 2011- Usual lack of discipline (DC) costs Monaghan against a beatable Tyrone
How does a Div3 final result change that?

ben1977 the tackle was on McManus wasnt it? Half the teams in Ulster have some claim or another to progressing but anything can happen. Derry/Donegal are in best position as the winning is most likely going to progress to final (not say antrim or fermanagh cant win but 19/20 they wouldnt win). Derry are rightly favourites but Donegal got to an ulster Final last year playing awful so I wouldnt be shocked if they did win.
The other side is complete minefield where anybody could win. Tyrone or Monaghan would have to be favorites but would be surprised and Down or Cavan causing some form of an upset

Dstruction, your right it was McManus, just a typ on my behalf, but it doesn't change the fact that Monaghan seem to think that if this did not happen they would have Went on to win the AI

Mark McHughs tackle was two lads going full tilt trying the get the ball. Both had eyes on the ball. Tackle was shoulder to shoulder. I will admit that McHugh had his hands on the ball which meant that Gollogly may have been a millisecond late. Hardly comparable to a blatant rugby tackle in front of goal. I think with all McGuinness' cribbing about it I think the donegal supporters should get over that one.

some nice people on here believe Donegal are finished, ????????????, maybe we want every1 to think that, usual sour grapes toward s Cavan, from Monaghan fan s,once and for all to the Monaghan fan s, will yous ever win an All Ireland, then yous will be taken seriousl y, and stop fearing Tyrone, Cavan, yous beat Cavan last year ,first time in 20 year s,yous have not beaten Tyrone since 1985?, to be 1 0f the big team s in Ulster yous have to beat the big teams, yous can do this but it wont be easy. by the way Cavan are the Elvis of Ulster senior football whether we like it or not, ie they have the most Ulster senior football titles, not Down.

Seriously mchugh, will you give it a rest with the whole Monaghan-Cavan thing, you're always trying to make it out worse than it is. One Monaghan poster responds to a Cavan one questioning our bottle, and suddenly we all have sour grapes?? And I don't see what relevance it is how many times we have beaten teams in 20 years, how many times have we played Cavan in that time? We mightn't have beaten Tyrone since 88, and yes we need to improve that, but we've met 4 times in that period, you'd swear we were playing every year. And as for being one of the big teams in Ulster(I'm talking about the present here not in history) and beating the big teams, well wouldn't winning Ulster last year and beating the AI champions in the final fulfil those criteria?!

They won Division 3 last year and went on to win Ulster. They are reigning Division 2 champions. Tyrone since 2010 have won The McKenna Cup. Tyrone lost the 2012 Division 2 Final against Kildare having won every game in the league stages. Having said that given Monaghan's recent very serious injury toll Tyrone start favourites not just for the Down game but for Ulster itself. Monaghan with a fully fit team would start favourites against Tyrone in Clones but that does not look like happening.

How does a Div3 final result change that? A National League Division 3 final result doesn't change what you have listed above but what is listed below does, Division 3 Champions 2013 Ulster Champions 2013 Division 2 Champions 2014. Looks as if they are a different outfit now. By the way Dick Clerkin's red card from the Tyrone game was rescinded in 2011. The officials got it wrong that day. Cavan's game plan is not nearly flexible enough. The predictability of the game plan will undo them in the Summer. It has to be developed. For all their wonderful success at under age and Cavan deserve great credit for what they have achieved at u-21 level this has not yet resulted in success at senior level.

This Hogan stand don't half get some people upset. I would not worry two much about what happened in the past. Could any of you posters have seen Donegal winning Ulster in 2011 after the game against Armagh in 2010?? Or indeed Sam two years later ??? Fermanagh and Antrim look the weakest at the moment and on leauge form Derry and Tyrone would be ahead of the pact but that's not to say they can win Ulster, indeed both Derry a And Tyrone can go out in the first round games. The team I can't figure out at present is my own county,,Donegal Just do not know where they stand but if ( and it's a big if) they get back anyway near to 2012 form they have a big chance in Ulster. It's 20 years since Down won Ulster, 16 since Derry won Ulster so it must be getting close to one of the two winning again. If Donegal fail to get to an Ulster final then I take Down to beat Derry in the final. So Down to beat Tyrone ( I would fancy Down more to beat Tyrone than Donegal to beat Derry) and Monaghan (McManus a massive loss)after the first two games we will have a good idea and I want to see how Donegal performs against Derry.

I'm looking forward to seeing Down play Tyrone.
Tyrone have opted to be more attacking in style during the league, but Indications are that they will become more defensive for Championship.
Down have actually become much more defensive in recent seasons, but are naturally a very open side.
This should be a cracking game. Expecting Kyle Coney to become a more prominant Tyrone forward this years, It's time for him to step up.
