Clondalkin my old friend!!!

Played well today looked fresh & some good young new players on show.

However Laois were desperate & it's a long way from Portlaoise in Feb to Croker in Sept.

Do you think Dublin have what it takes to defend the title?

Muck I guarantee you that we will win this years all Ireland title , our biggest threat is Donegal and only if there parking the bus, if they try something different than '12 they've no chance. Kerry Mayo Tyrone and Cork are not good enough to beat us this year. Were getting stronger and stronger and IMO the main challengers are not.

Good man Clondalkin. I admire any man who nails his colours to the mast.

Not sure that I would be as bullish as you are but I agree that Dublin are favourites at the moment.

If you can keep your players out of Mountjoy & come up with a defensive tactic that doesn't involve eating your opponents by the mouthful then you will be hard to stop.

GaryMc do you not think it's a bit early to be writing off Cork and for that matter putting yourselves ythrough to the semi's with just 1 point in the bag?

Dublin,Tyrone, kildare, mayo, semis,Derry will be happy enough to stay up i think, need another 2 wins and a draw,Down had 5pts last year and were relegated.

Interesting you tip us for relegation. I am not getting carried away with yesterday's win. It was a very poor game and we have a long way to go but we won that game easily while playing very poorly. The candidates for relegation I would have said would have been Westmeath, Derry,Kildare, Cork in that order of most likely to go down. Kildare have been very good thus far so might have to revise that. I based my predictions initially on how their year ended last year. Crucially, we have home games against all of those teams and that means a lot (I know we lost to Kildare at home last year and they are playing very well). I think we will get 8 points in this league. That will be enough to stay up..will it be enough to reach the semis?

Fitzmaurice absolutely fizzing about David Coldrick's performance at the weekend. More or less says that Dublin got easy frees compared to Kerry and surely this once again opens the topic of whether Dublin are unfairly benefiting from on and off field decisions.

A losing manager not happy with the performance of a ref? How many times have we heard that before from managers from different counties? If Kerry were good enough to put scores on Dublin with 15 men like they did then they should've been able to do so against 14 men. That's why they lost the game I'm afraid.

Kerry threw that game away in fairness. But Coldrick didn't have a bad first half. He's a referee I think that always gives a few soft frees, but he was very consistent in the first half. The second half though, especially after he sent off the Dublin lad, Dublin were still getting soft frees but Kerry were getting nothing. Now I didn't have the best view for a lot of the incidents and maybe Dublin's harrassing in the second half was very good. But if 2 Kerry players surrounded a Dub the whistle was blown very quickly but it wasn't the same at the other end. Since Pat McEnaney retired we don't have a consistently good ref, and it's a shame because of the frustration it leaves. And now I'm not jumping on the media favour Dublin band wagon. But was there anything said about that red card?? What even happened? I didn't watch the post game analysis though in fairness.

Not sure what everyone is getting so worked up about. Hardly a new phenomenon this Dublin down to 14 and then getting everything going afterwards, is it? Sure look at 2009 and 2011 Kildare games. After Ger Brennan was sent off early in 2009 Kildare didn't get one scoreable free for the rest of the game and we ended up falling short having scored 0-18 all from play. And we all know what happened at the end in 2011.

What do you make of Padraig O Sullivan (Kerry) as a ref? Do you know him? He refereed the Cork/Westmeath game yesterday. While the game was possibly one of the worst I was ever at and he made no difference to the outcome, I didn't think he had the best games. He gave a few yellows when I thought they might have been black cards (it would have been mostly Cork players it has to be said). Reading the examiner this morning, Michael Moynihan seemed a little baffled that he 'chose' to give yellows rather than black.

@ Bennybunny

I honestly don't recognize him. Kerry wouldn't exactly be renowned for having good referees though haha! I only remember one good one, but I can't think of his name. He might have been Kerins O'Rahillys referee, possibly

We are rebuilding, but I would be amazed if Derry beat Cork in the league this year and even more amazed if Derry are not relegated. And though not as strong as we were, I still couldn't see one Ulster team beating Cork in the championship in 2014 and if we go the back door route in 2014 it's the Ulster champions I'd be hoping we draw in the quarter finals as whoever wins that will still be probably be the weakest of the 4 provincial champions.

So Kildare lost to Dublin in 2009 and 2011 because of refereeing decisions? doublehop maybe you should look at those games again,Dublin were the better team, and deserved to win both matches Kildare were simply not good enough.

I feel a massive back lash here...Donegal will be much closer to the 2012 version I feel..wouldn't rule out Tyrone either...
