Entertaining enough game in Celtic Park last night though I felt wee left the extra point behind Derry came into it more in the second half but wee should have killed the game off before then still coming away from Celtic park with a point is better than coming away with out any. Derry lost the McKenna cup SF narrowly, and got a deserved draw last night after a superb 2nd half comeback. GaryMc82 (Derry) - Posts: 3058 - 02/02/2014 14:04:57 1539889 Link 0 |

Kildare v Mayo is a cracker but I'm not sure about this black card crack, Aidan O Shea gone for nothing really , I don't want to see players go for something as innocent as that. We pay good money to go and see the best players play not sit in the stand ffs. clondalkindub (Dublin) - Posts: 9926 - 02/02/2014 15:18:44 1539928 Link 0 |

Great game in Newbridge, well done to Kildare! realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8821 - 02/02/2014 16:04:51 1539967 Link 0 |

Aos should never have been given a black card. Terrible decision. He was mayos best player up to then imo. Thought the lillies shooting was lovely today too. A throughly enjoyable game. Jackeen (Dublin) - Posts: 4097 - 02/02/2014 16:11:58 1539974 Link 0 |

Clondalkin, I fully agree, I couldn't see what aiden oshea done to deserve the card. Both players seemed to be holding each other down. The Kildare black was clear cut though so the ref has got it 50% correct today I suppose frankbhoy77 (Antrim) - Posts: 1300 - 02/02/2014 16:12:59 1539975 Link 0 |

Didn't make the game in newbridge. Disappointed with the result but no need to panic. Great open game. Kildare had one of those days when everything they not seemed to go over. AOS black card was a stupid decision by the ref. you get away with it this time of year but imagine in the heat of championship battle the uproar these black cards will cause. Impressed with Adam Gallagher, our u-21 captain this year up front. yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 12259 - 02/02/2014 16:22:54 1539984 Link 0 |

Kildare/Mayo was excellent match. On reflection, having seen last night and today, and looking at the scores in other matches, the black card may in fact be working to the good. Great to see such open high scoring games compared to the dreadful stuff we have seen. Donegal scored 2 - 19 today. When is the last time that happened? hurlingdub (Dublin) - Posts: 6978 - 02/02/2014 16:28:53 1539987 Link 0 |

Great scalp for the Lillies today. Brophys last gasp kick a great finish to game. Yous nearly blew it with the last minute madness from goalie. Well done. Aido69 (Dublin) - Posts: 381 - 02/02/2014 16:33:38 1539990 Link 0 |

I think the black card is working well and is leading to more goal chances as can be seen from today's scores. As for Aidan O'Shea's black card I think the ref got it right as he had his arms around Chalky White. In case you think I'm biased I'll add that Cribbin's was deserved and Hurley could have gotten one as well. OntheWhiteSide (Kildare) - Posts: 452 - 02/02/2014 17:39:44 1540072 Link 0 |

For me AOS should have been booked and nothing more, to be black carded for that seemed very harsh to me, him and White became entangled in the middle of the pitch it was hardly cynical or White was hardly running tru on goal or anything. Like I don't think the black card was brought in for what AOS did today. Just my opinion, Kildare deserved there win well done. clondalkindub (Dublin) - Posts: 9926 - 02/02/2014 18:13:48 1540105 Link 0 |
