Predictions for winner of NFL Division 1?

No they're not, every league that has come and gone, winning it or not, quickly fades in the memory and that is the main point here IMO

Generally you can tell who the form teams are by the league, so it's useful in that respect - e.g. Dublin winning it and Donegal being relegated last year. Tyrone had a good league in 2003 and 2005, though I can't remember how they did in '08.

1533476 I would say that for Dublin winning is THE main thing and not just a bonus. I looked at a few other Dublin GAA websites and there were more than a few perturbed Dubs after the loss to DCU so let's not overdo the pseudo can't be bothered stuff.

We want to win every game, I didn't want to go out of OBC , because it is 2 games less we get to play , for trying players.
League will be the same , want to get to the final again to play as many games against good opposition as possible. I enjoyed the league last year some great matches, I hope this year is the same, but like what I said in earlier post, calling how we will do will be a lottery with the amount of new players that will be tried out doesn't mean off course we wont win it ,but the important thing is to find 3 or 4 lads for certain positions going into championship.

Errr.......realdub.......where at all did I mention you? I said let's not kid ourselves that ANYONE in sport likes losing at ANY time or doesn't take competitions seriously. A whole point. I'm sure if it was other way round Dublin would be giving back their all Ireland medals just for a national league one. Will you get a grip. I rephrase that. Win anything meaningful ie ulster or all Ireland, if your ambition is league success then away with you. I think real ambition is to win provincial and all Ireland. Not leagues, their food for blooding players but a league medal means very little , believe me on that.
That been said Dublin had league won anyways before the nonsense semi finals, really annoys me that, and ye were lucky to beat Kildare, trust me if that was important final ie all Ireland dubs would have blown you away. Mayo Kerry and cork only ones that can compete with them everyone else is just making up the numbers including Meath and I hate to burst your bubble but Tyrone too.

Well RoyalDunne, could you explain your comment about Tyrone believing they have a right to win? Strange comment though you said a while ago that Meath were the better team against Tyrone last year and deserved to win that match (you're complaining about it again in this topic) - so who here exactly has the sense of entitlement? If Meath were good enough they'd have won. "Fact".

Loosing league matches doesn't bother me one bit. Yeah playing the better teams has its advantage when it comes to real competition as it breeds familiarity
But I don't think Donegal were that bothered as im sure Dublin won't be if they lost a game but found a player. No one likes loosing games but hey if it helps when it matters so be it.

Meath were unlucky yes but Meath aren't looking at all Ireland's as they are far off that. Same as Tyrone. Not one Tyrone poster has given me any evidence why Tyrone can be called genuine all Ireland contenders. Not one. Beat handy enough by a Donegal side that was relegated and should have lost to down and were taken apart by Monaghan and Mayo, Tyrone barring a few dubious frees should have lost to a Meath team that started a strange selection and let's be honest were in year one of a 3 year rebuilding programme, beat a Monaghan team that probably hadn't stopped celebration ulster by very dodgy means, got swept aside by Mayo in 3rd gear, and were not that convincing v a Kildare side in disarray.
Please tell me based on last year how any of that points to imminent success this year? The only reason that I can come up with is we are Tyrone and we win all Ireland's. The very same logic that has haunted Meath since 01 until recently. It is really that simple, disagree with me as much as you want but IMO Tyrone are not all Ireland contenders. By all means believe, but don't get up on high horse cause someone doesn't think same as you. Last point prove me wrong, I'll wholeheartedly admit I was wrong if you win it.

I agree with Ulsterman on his winning mentality point. If any of the AI contenders get relegated their championship stock will drop like a stone. I'd like to see my own county take it 'seriously' while finding a player or two, and I fancy Kerry and Tyrone will have much the same ambition. The Dubs may not need it so badly this year, while Cork and Kildare are both at a crossroads right now. I fancy one of the promoted teams will survive... leaning more towards Derry than Westmeath.

Why do people talk down the league.....yet getting relegated is not good and getting promoted is seen as an adjective. Time to cut the snobbery. Winning division 1 of the league is a great achievement and winning is a good habit going into summer
