AthCliath,

Brilliant, honest, fair assessment and totally spot on. I thought the Dubs were off form from the start and didn't really get into the game to a position where they were dominating or looked like winning the match; it didn't really happen for them today but form SOME Dubs to start blaming others and throw in the usual anti-Northern bile is not on. Derry are physical, always have been, but they are also a good team with some cracking footballers and to try and tarnish them with stereotypical nonsense is not on. They played some great stuff there today so to accuse them of 'puke football' is just rubbish and smacks of the worst bad loser bitterness going.

At the beginning of the year everyone was tipping Westmeath and Derry for relegation...............move forward 5 matches and 3 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat = 7 pts, not relegation in my eyes.

It obvious from this forum there is some very blinkered Dublin fans. To say Alan Brogan was the best player on the pitch is a joke. Mark Lynch and Fergal Doc were the best two players on that pitch, Mark Lynch just shaded Doc for MOM. Some of the scores taken by Mark Lynch today were superb, would be talking about them for the next 6 months if he played for Dublin, a Cork or Kerry.

Derry got into the faces of the Dublin players today, we weren't going to be bullied by their physicality and played the better football. We should of had a penalty just before halftime but there's no point in talking about it now. Yes the referee made some bad decisions, but each side got their fair share of these.

On another point, I think Dublin will have a very strong starting 15 when all their players are available but on today's showing some of the panel players outside the starting 15 are ordinary enough.

Anyway a 6 point victory over the Dubs is a great start to St Paddy's day celebrations.

Doire Abu.

Ps to the Dub who posted on this forum that we wouldn't even put laundered money on Derry, all I can say 'eat humble pie'

Clondalkin,

The "same stuff" I spout is usually in response to the same anti-Ulster guff that has been posted on these boards for years. Some posts on here and on the Dublin page merely verify that certain elements outside the North just can't handle teams or people up here standing up for themselves and not backing down to them. Derry showed that they weren't going to be bullied by anyone but if you can't handle it, that's your problem. We have seen the same elements post the same anti-Northern rhubarb after Armagh, Tyrone and Donegal won their All Irelands. If the would could out and admit that they are partitionists who don't like the Northern part of the island I would have more respect for them but they shift, scrape, whinge and post other excuses every time a Northern/Ulster side beats Dublin or Kerry; they are the predictable ones.

2 goal win, happy enough with that. Squandered more scoring opportunities in 1st half. Will probably need a win at least from last 2 games.

Yes AthCliath, George has looked a liability more than anything else thus far, but that is what the league is for, at least we know now. Whelan didn't do himself any favours either, a lot of top players to come back, no real harm done, well done to Derry again, this will boost their confidence even more, Kildare look like they're in trouble now, Kerry are playing well and could be top with a bit of luck!

On the plus side, Brogan looked something like his old self!

Brogan was good but not the best. Derry #11 was best by far.

Hahaha why would we not like people who live on the north of the Island? This is the funniest thing I've ever heard. Actually you right I don't like them people who live on the south east west part of the Island hahaha give it over it's a game of football it's not war. Mark Lynch no doubt about it he was motm followed by Alan Brogan who kicked six from play.

Good win today against Kildare, Eamon probably made too many changes in a very short space of time that took the wind out of our sails a bit, but happy enough considering we were denied a stonewall peno in the first half when a kidareman jumped on the back of Stephen O'Brien when he was straight through on goal, and James o'donahue had 2 or 3 shots on goal well saved, but we'll drive it on and see what happens :-)

Derry deserved their victory today sharper and hungry for the ball the ref had a shocker, their could have been at least 3 black cards and a pen.Lynch MOM doc bradley all had great games the dubs looked ordinary but as i say take them out of croker evens it out a bit.Not bad when everyone said we would be relegated 7pts we will take that.

Looking at all the predictions for Div1 It appears nobody called the 4 games correctly. The Derry v Dublin and Mayo v Cork matches being the stumbling block for most.

Derry will surely reach the Ulster final if they keep playing like this, you would expect them to reach the league semi finals at least as well.

I wouldn't disagree realdub, and in the greater scheme of things this match could turn out to be a blessing .but for me their was too many B team players on the pitch at once , One thing it did show is Kev Nolan deserves to start the next match and we need ROC if he is fit. Kev mc gives MOM performance last week and is nowhere? and hes not even usually in the starting 15 in championship.

Good win for Tyrone today; after the horror show
in Killarney it is nice to get back to winning ways!
Happy St.Patrick's day lads. :)

Ah man chill out well done on your win but don't start the Croke Park talk when we have a b team out against you's surely judge us on our best team when were out of Croke park. Cluxton McMahon Mdmc O Sullivan are the only likely starters come the summer, any team missing Roc Mccaffrey Brennan McCarty Flynn Connolly mannion Bernard Kev mac Costello and the injured ck will not be as strong especially when a lot of the replacement's aren't good enough.

You got to hand it to Kerry, they really turn on the style when they need to. One more win should secure them in division one and with only west Meath and their friendly neighbours cork to play they should do it alright.

Well done Derry today in a well fought win. Easily worth 6 point win today. Some lovely scores. No excuses, refs, who was playing etc. Well done.
Plus side for us was A Brogan looking a bit sharper than last week.

UM. What can I say. Ref hadn't blown up and your on here stirring the North/South pot or perpetuating the great Dublin/Headquarters/Refereeing conspiracy theroy. You should be more concerned with how your own countymen are doing. Unbelievable how many people fall for it. Keep up the good work
