moomoo, I told you before lad, I never enter a battle of wits with an unarmed man,
I realise now that the same attitude needs to be applied when dealing with
muckrosshead! ;)

What attitude would that it? To ignore people when they point out things that are true?

Fair enough Master, im not here to run down Dillon , he is a fantastic player and has been mighty to Mayo down the years.

Who went missing in last years decider in your opinion?

So you are dropping him on the basis that he didnt play well against donegal, while being double marked for the entire game, one of which being the best marker in the country and current FOTY? Basically you are dropping an all-star on the basis of the above, niiiice...

Also, on the topic of tyrone - donegal. I wonder why brolly never produced a foul count on that game...

I'm not dropping him or even saying he should be, all i said was in response to clondalkin dub, what six will start for Mayo come Salthill if all are fit.

It will be a tough choice and i wouldnt be surprised if dillon were left out, i wouldn't be displeased if he were to start either.

You are not saying drop him, but you would be happy if he was dropped...

He is our best forward. Why drop your best forward?

Ahh ok , can you point out to me where i typed ''i would be happy''.

Simply saying i wouldnt be surprised if Dillon didnt make starting fifteen for Salthill, no mention of my emotional state in relation to the selection other than it wouldnt bother me either way. jeeeeeeeezus

Moran is Mayo's best forward plain and simple.
A'O'Shea at 11 did not work and your midfield partnership could not deal with our makeshift midfield so A'O'Shea is equally as important as Moran for Mayo's hopes. Lee Keegan was immense last year and looks equally as good if not better this year, Doherty continues to improve and may be the forward addition you require. Clark was missed in goal Saturday night purely for his distribution. Your fitness levels at the moment are not up to scratch but that is no harm for this time of year.

As for Dublin Cian O'Sullivan is looking like the find of the league for us with his new midfield position, Bernard is playing great stuff and the reason for his form is very simple he is playing he did not feature at all in the league last year and was not even in the country for the start of last year, these hard yards now will stand to him later in the year.

Bluewave, what has moran done to warrant this accolade? Sell mark o'se and michael shields a few dummies then kick the ball straight at the keeper? Dillon is more important to what mayo do than moran. Dillon is the creator in chief, and there arent many as good as him at that job in the business. We wouldnt have beaten dublin without him last year. We did beat them without moran.

With Moran back for Mayo, Bernard flying for Dublin & Tyrone showing good form, this year promises to be great.

I disagree Master re Andy .

He is ball winner , makes several runs then bang loses his marker and reins in the ball. He was what was missing in our forward line for the final, your tone is disrespectful towards Andy but you are entitled to your opinion obviously.

his consistency of good performances over the last few years is second to none.

Moran is Mayo's talisman , their marquee player , he is a natural leader. Dublin were a team in decline last year I would not be reading too much into that game, the entire panel had gone a bit stale and the focus was not there.

Down v Mayo - Down ( They just have to win )

Kildare v Dublin - Dublin ( By no more than 2 points, U21s need a rest )

Donegal v Kerry - Kerry ( Beware the wounded Kerry man )

Tyrone v Cork - Tyrone ( Tyrone with a few to spare )

________

Bluewave, Best way for the U21s to put last nights disappointment behind them is to go out there and make amends on sunday. Wednesday -> Sunday is 4 days , Thats time enough for them to get a bit of rest and go again on Sunday afternoon, I'd be majorly surprised if they didnt start sunday .. Think Gavin will leave it up to them to make themselves available anyway

Down v Mayo - Mayo played very well last week in the best quality match of 2013 and will be angry in the manner that they lost. Won't happen again here.

Kildare v Dublin - If Kildare start well we might have a squeak. But Dublin with the panel they've got will probably close it out. Still the worst thing about winning games when not playing great is maybe you don't acknowedge a problem. Worst comes to worst here at least Kildare will learn some lessons for the summer. Dublin by 2

Donegal v Kerry - Unless a few players have returned to fitness for Kerry, Donegal by 3 or 4

Tyrone v Cork - Cork have never struggled against Tyrone and will get back on course here.

Would agree to an extent, it definitely is the best way to get the loss out of the system to jump straight back on the saddle but they have had some amount of games lately with O'Byrne cup, Sigerson Cup, Club Games, U21 and Senior think some of them need a breather.
