I'll settle for that, two points on the board and encouraging performances from some of the younger players

Just back from Donegal Down game.
Typical early year stuff with Donegal struggling at midfield until Neil Gallagher was brought on. They also shot a lot of wides but it has to be said that Down were very poor. Murphy again the stand out player on the field.

It seems THEGATEKEEPER is a closet Dublin fan lol. Stick to one team. Support your county with passion.

Kerry have scored their first point in the 21st minute............add that to the last 42 minutes of the Mayo game and it was 63 minutes without a score......... that must be a record bad for The Kingdom.

Dubs should be home and dry at this stage, missed a few chances to put this to bed already, Kerry are very poor!

Dubs were very good but never saw Kerry as inept! Thats a spanking from the old foe!

Got to be pleased with that win in Mayo, wasn't expected so that's a bonus 2 points and one more win should seal our division 1 status for this year. Its good to see the legend that is Stevie O'Neill showing those glimpses of old, the younger team mates need experience like that.

Kerry have scored only 4 points in their last 116 minutes football..... one point every 29 minutes.......bad

Great performance by the Dubs. if today proves anything it is that Dublin have a far better squad than Kerry. Kerry will be in serious trouble this year if they lose any of their 1st 15.

Prediction for next weekend

Cork v Kildare.......Kildare
Donegal V Down....Donegal
Mayo v Tyrone......Tyrone
Kerry v Dublin.......Dublin

My natural modesty nearly stopped me pasting this prediction from earlier in the week....nearly but not quite.

If only I was a betting man!!!!

Very happy with that
Lots to be positive about

Worry signs for Kerry.
These new lads arent up to scratch and they certainly arent good enough to replace the old guard

Kerry underage hasnt been great and they may be in some trouble when the likes of the O'Se's, Galvin, etc etc call it a day

Kerry for Div 2?

Shocking - poor - rudderless - toothless. If it demonstrates anything its our lack of depth. It highlights just what a wonderful team we have had for the past 10 years. Sport is all about cycles it took Dublin 15 years to bridge the gap. Kerrys first 15 will be a match for anyone in the summer we are not gone yet.

True enough. I wouldnt read too much into the win today
Just one thing though.
You'd want to get your hands on Sam again soon
Because when the likes of some of the many household names you have in your starting 15 call it a day
The O'Se's, Galvin, O'Shea... etc etc
I honestly dont see much in these new players. Nowhere near some of the current lads
It may be similar to the start of the 90's again for you
You'd want to hope that some of your key players dont get injured
Because there's not a whole lot there to replace them
Your underage just isnt up to scratch at the minute and Dublin's advantage in that regard is all too clear to see
You're not the only one with a lot of houehold name players waiting to return

Congratulations to Dublin and Tyrone. Dublin look to be building a very very good team - Kerry were awful, bring back the Gooch!

What a game in Castlebar, Tyrone played some lovely stuff away from home. They never gave up and bossed the game from the start. Mayo's attitude let them down, why didnt they play the whole game like they did in the last 10 minutes, did they think they would just walk over Tyrone with no effort? Was there a lack of respect towards their Ulster rivals?

I thought Mayo had stole it though despite Tyrone being the better team during the match, I had accepted defeat but our never die attitude got us the win. Was a clear penalty if there ever was one and I dont know what the Mayo players were complaining about. We march on with another two deserved points in the bag and hopefully we have gained some respect in the process.
