Well it is tough on the Glen when they are playing against 16 players. But it is an amateur game so maybe it will be forgotten about.

Replay territory, obviously. Rules are clear - you're only allowed 15 payers. Of course, some players don' t count, such as Charlie Redmond.

Replying To Saynothing:  "Glen player had his two elbow's up when contact was made, Crokes player just stood his ground. You need to let go this everyone against Ulster crap. Glen missed to much and some bad short passing was the death of them."
Where did I say the decision was anything about geography? Put your glasses on next time and read the actual post. I didn't say Crokes win was anything to do with the referee, I was talking about one decision.

It maybe forgotten but there was a situation recently where a schools All Ireland final had to be replayed because of very similar issue so you wouldn't know.It depends if Glen lodge an objection and if its proven.

They had 17 players still on the pitch, Mannion had not yet left the field when the 45 was taken.

In fairness to Charlie, Dubs only ever had 15 players on the pitch in '95.

If Crokes did have 16 players on the pitch today whilst play was going on, there should be a replay imo.

I believe the rule is that subs can only be made at a stoppage in play, and the referee should not resume play until the linesman lowers his flag to indicate substituted players have left the field. So it's an officiating error. Mayo had 16 players on the field in the 2021 semi v Dublin when Hennelly missed a 45 to equalise, linesman kept his flag up and Mayo "bizarrely" got a second chance which Rob converted, if he had scored the first one, asked to retake it, just wondering ?

That was a strange one, It will depend on whether Glen lodge an objection if it will even be heard, or unless the ref mentions it in his report as an error on the part of the officials. Neither Mannion nor Mullins, who was wandering off but still nor reached the sideline were involved in the last play.

Anyway, it seems that Malachy O'Rourke was asked about this and he appeared not to suggest that there would be an appeal.

I reckon it's down to common sense too. Dublin could technically have objected in 2021 but did not. I'd imagine if it was a case where a player who was not supposed to be on pitch did play a decisive part in the action after he was supposed to be gone, then there would be no question about it, And if the officials did not cop on, then an objecting team would have a strong case.

Could Glen honestly claim they would have won had the two players not been outside the line rather than inside but not taking part?

He owes his club nothing having done his best to get them back up to to senior. He's up in Dublin so good luck to him. Clubs don't own players.

Was at the game on balance crokes were the better side, officials were very poor, glen had decent shout for pen near the end when Bradley was clearly pushed in the back. Thought glen had to work harder for their frees than crokes. Was glass carrying an injury??? He was very much a peripheral figure today in contrast to his performances in 2022. I thought Walsh was the difference between the two teams, class act.

Glen had plenty of chances had two stone wall chances with ten minutes to go to fist the ball over the bar instead held onto it looking for goal and lost it. Also great chance for a goal which was missed.

As for the penalty you could see it coming five seconds out. Why the player put his hand in when he knew there would only be one outcome shows a lack of experience.

As an earlier poster said these chances don't come around too often.. Was a good entertaining game. Hurling was also exciting and alot closer than expected.

I really think Glen could have won the game, but alas they couldn't afford the transfer fees required to win a club all Ireland that the Kilmacud super club were able to pay. Who will they add next year?? It's what our games are all about

Eh there was a 16th man on the goalline for the last attack. It should be replayed. Its the officials fault but the Meath hurlers had to replay the Christy Ring Cup final in 2016 after the referee made an error. Can't just say ah sure look no point looking at it again. The whole Kilmacud thing stinks anyway. Shane Walsh hardly there a wet week and parading around saying these are days you dream of? He's only there since September. What sums it up is today three Kilmacud Crokes club men were down in Westmeath playing for the Dublin hurlers while their club were playing in an All Ireland Final. That just doesn't happen in normal clubs. Ballyhale Shamrocks are a normal GAA Club. Kilmacud Crokes have more resources than 70/80% of intercounty teams and are most certainly not a normal club.
