Replying To galwayfball:  "The fact you had to state that you were talking about Moycullen says it all really.

I might be disappointed at the result but Extremely proud of my club. The people who feel the need to stick the boot in go ahead . It says more about you than the fantastic panel of players I'm proud to see represent my parish.

Wishing M/M and Corofin good luck in the final.

We are all one county. Remember that"
Moycullen took in 4 or 5 transfers and won a county title. There will always be a * beside their name.

No there won't. I haven't seen that * listed anywhere.
Moycullen have produced some brilliant homegrown players in recent years, greatly helping the county team from underage to senior.

Replying To TheBishop:  "John Daly outstanding yesterday, very impressive. Barely noticed the brother.

Was it Murray picking up Dessie Conneely? He did a great job. MM got away with a lot of fouling the 2nd half, ref should have issued a lot more yellow cards.

Final depends on what Corofin turn up, given it was MM who beat them last year I'd fear for MM."
John scored a great point in the first half with his bad foot. Not his forte to be fair. He's a very good reader of a game and badly missed by Galway last year. Just hope he can stay fit.

Oh it's there alright. The truth can hurt. But never won a county title pre 2020 - they take in numerous transfers and then win a frank fox. And people always slated Salthill for it ? Lets just be fair and keep emotion out of things please.

I'm not denying the homegrown talent - sean kelly is brilliant but i am just keeping it 100 as I always tend to do.

Continue to say I am wrong and all you want.

Ah in fairness, I think you are wrong. Not 100% wrong, but wrong . I dont think that Moycullen's title is tainted at all. For sure every club would like to be able to say they are 100% homegrown but this is not practical. And if every club took that attitude where would guys living a long way from their home club play. As long as dont actively start soliciting imports then I dont see an issue with it. I think that most senior clubs have at least 1 player who falls in to the non local category. And lets be honest apart from Eoin Gallagher all of Moycullen's star players are local. The other imports are fine players but nothing special and wouldn't be used in any conversation as evidence that Moycullen are stacking the deck.
But now that we are on the subject of Gallagher , I wonder would PJ be able to convince him to wear the maroon... or would a Sam Maguire with him on board be followed by an asterisk. I dont think so.

There would be many county titles around the country with an asterisk beside it going by Peggys logic. Only a WUM.

Moycullen deserved county champions in 2020, MM and Corofin is going to be a cracker in 2021

I'm not from Moycullen, so no hurt feelings on this end. They more than deserved their county title last year. You're the first person I've heard question it.
Carraroe win a county title in '96 with Pat Comer in goal. Does that one have a * beside it too?
Moycullen been producing strong underage teams in recent years, so it was inevitable they'd build a strong senior panel.
A lot of people moved into the area over the past 20 years and much like Claregalway on the other side of the city, the results of this can be seen in their underage performances.
The likes of the Kellys, Conneely, McLaughlin and a few more have come through from intercounty underage.

Replying To Kickitout:  "Just wondering what club will represent Galway in Connacht junior club this year ,,as the 4 teams in semi finals are all B teams they can't go forward , in hurling they have separate competition for junior clubs ,, Again football being shown lack respect,, also seen where Galway hurling has a budget of 700k for the year no word of football budget ,,-Also hurlers full Time S/ C coach with 8 people under him for all Galway hurling teams ,,I presume football is the same ,,,,,I have my doubts ,,"
Athenry v Renvyle to decide who goes forward, the two junior clubs that progressed furthest. Next year CB should have a stand alone championship for junior only clubs. Winners will play in Connacht etc, also should be allowed play the team that wins junior championship (as is), to determine who goes up to intermediate, if that club has not already won both. Every junior only club should have two championships. This will help improve standards in junior only clubs. Give players an incentive to improve.

Replying To galway19:  "That was fierce impressive from Mountbellew. Moycullen came at them with three or four scores in a row in the second and Mountbellew, playing into a strong breeze, took the game over and created three goals chances in a row with the last one taken by Daly. I give them a great chance in the final if John Daly is in that sort of form. Corofin also don't really have a defender that matches up very well with the size of Patrick Kelly,"
Size doesn't matter.. our defenders excel in the art..
Looking forward to putting the slip up of last year right..
A North final? Pj would want to start calling up mainly football lads from the North and forget about the city teams..

Yes a spectator in the terrace needed medical attention. Players alerted ref and called for medics, game was stopped and he was taken to hospital

Thankfully he is fine. Well done to the bystanders, players and medics who helped. It's just football at the end of the day , it turned out to not be as serious as it appeared

For sure Corofin have better one on one defenders but it will take a big effort to keep McHugh, Finnerty, Michael Daly and Kelly away from goal all day. They definitely created six goal chances against Moycullen. The first goal showed it doesn't matter how good of a defender you are, you can't do anything if a lad catches a high ball like that.

Time and time again the corofin players proved they aren't at inter county standard. Great club team yes but that is that.

Better one on one defenders!! Patrick Sweeney had about 4 goals chances on Sunday, threw a couple of Silkes away like rag dolls.

If Moycullen imported a few then so be it, Moycullen's talent is almost all homegrown and they seem to have a decent enough conveyor belt of it coming through from underage. Maybe there should be a * beside Corofin's titles, given that they play men from Turloughmore and other parishes! Sure a club in a 20 something kilometre long parish + neighbours is bound to win a few! It's like a parish going from Tuam to Mountbellew, or from Salthill to past Killanin. Asterisk away my friend!
