I see the Tipperary London game, their final game of the season is on on the Saturday evening, the only game in the football league not to be on the Sunday. Bit bizarre scheduling there. Every other game in div 4 is on at 1pm Sunday. Is this more facilitation of London participating or what is the story here?

Great win for Leitrim. Carlow had a few goal chances but tbf so did Leitrim. I genuinely thought the ref gave Leitrim nothing. 2 big games left regardless if we get promoted. I believe we will have made significant progress if we have bet Waterford Tipp Carlow Wexford and Sligo. While the London game was a disaster anyone that was at the game will know the wind and conditions made it 50/50. Leitrim will
beat London in the championship no doubt about it.

Ah yeh complete disaster how we gave up home advantage, beginning to look like a costly mistake. Should have dug the heels in.

Nothing to do with coughing up home advantage. It's a lazy excuse to blame that. I am far from a lover of Mayo football but they are at the top end of Div 1 and played no game at home

So home advantage has no bearing at all? We should move our game to Carrick so?

It shouldn't have and that's a fact. You play what's put in front of you and the fact is, Leitrim slipped up in a game that they were expected to win. The management team agreed to the change when they possibly should not have but hindsight is great to have.

Took you a while to realise that it was a error by the Leitrim county board to not play that game in Leitrim. Anyway it is done now and that is that.

Dug the heels in to who? London didn't request any change in venue.

Lets not take Wexford for granted..no point talking about London being the one that got away when we have 2 games left.. Sligo should be a local championship derby game and a real test of where we are at...they have clocked up big scores this year so a good result there will tell us what progress we have really made this year.

Rookie error in fairness. I disagree though, I think a home crowd can help the thing, they'd be used to the wind patterns that swirl around Páirc Seán and só forth and be more comfortable and at ease within themselves on the front foot.

Good win. It can seem easy to go on about a ref but you would have to wonder. HOW did he pull back Tom Prior for the free when he was clean in on goal? . A free from a tight angle, but luckily Keith Beirne was shooting out the lights left and right boot. His place kicking was worth the trip down alone.
He then gave avantage in the second half..we missed the goal and seemed to forget about our pending free and rewarded a free out instead. Keith Beirne couldn't buy a free off him. Carlow player fell into the square for the penalty. He was tight on other stuff to be fair..off the grounds, 2 hops, and pull backs and tom prior was in the square.

Ryan O'rourke was excellent. Full of confidence taking on the defense as opposed to passing it back out. Some great fielding in the middle against big men. We struggled with their big full forward though.
Carlow retreated in the second half but still were unlucky not to have a couple of goals...great saves made. The could have briught them back into it. Rem, they nearly beat Cavan !

I don't think we should be going on about the London game. Bad day at the office. You have to have some decency / integrity. I'm thinking Clare v Offaly 1998 or indeed anytime you feign inury to get a player sent off...yes you might get the short term gain but ultimately it's on the cheap and why bother playing the sport then?
Same for both teams and London are like Italy in 6 nations - you want to get them at the end of the competition to avoid disappointment.

Regardless of Tipp, we have to keep going and finish strong with 2 more wins. Thank you to the players and management for one of the better days.

Not from Roscommon, and the only story or tale to tell here is in the future when playing the wum make sure you don't end up with egg on your face.

I'm here talking about Leitrim football, certainly not being a wum like some here, or one individual with many accounts more like. Stick to topic please

Just after going through all league results.
On away games LEITRIM has the best record in the country.
Played 3 Won 3

Best travelling support too. There was a great vocal crowd in Carlow. Poor home turn out it has to be said.

Yes because county teams go out worrying about 'wind patterns'... against or with the wind is about as much as you need to know... good teams / management adapt to the conditions that they face. We lost ... time to move on.

Funding is not near a level playing pitch.

Leitrim held a fundraiser in January.
176000 was raised.
I'd say their are people from other counties reading this and saying big deal. It's not that much.
I just done some research on the figure raised.

I've just picked 6 counties at random and based on a per capita basis this is what they would have raised.

Donegal.== 872000

Clare.=====651000

Wexford.== 821000

Tipperary.==874000

Kerry. ==== 806000

Louth.==== 716000

The about of money we raised in this fundraiser was just brilliant from a county with such a small population

Its the same price to hire a bus to bring the Leitrim team to Tipperary as it would for Tipperary to hire one to bring the team to leitrim
