On today's Myth Busters: Galway have good forwards - False. Ah, we don't lads. We don't have good forwards at all. Many of the lads themselves just aren't up to it and then their forwards coaching is laughable. I'm now convinced that the bold Scan and PJ really haven't a notion how to coach IC forwards and make them click as a unit. We need no further evidence. 4 points in 39 mins in this first half display. Roughly a point every 10 goddamn long minutes. Rubbish. Just not good enough at all. It's sad watching our demise. Roll on the excuses. Can we get someone who knows how to get forwards moving into the setup cos this isn't going to improve much even with all the lads back. They do not know what they're doing.

Not great first half. As said on numerous occasions, Galways sideways pass all the time. Looking for the perfect score. I saw a statistic, Galway on 70% possesion. But a point behind. Says it all. Rob Finnerty playing well, why not try lobbing ball into him a bit more. Tyrone more direct in front of the posts.

Good first 20 minutes but a bad last 15 minutes. Two young lads up front are fairly anonymous today unfortunately. Only Finnerty looks like scoring. Slow plodding attacks with the ball going back and over the field before someone eventually decides to have a shot. They are giving Tyrone plenty time to get back in defence. And they've still managed to get blocked down about 3 times.

Big second half required. Lose today and I'd say relegation is likely.

In fairness to the forwards, Galway are so slow to attack that Tyrone have all day to get everyone back in defence and get themselves set up.

Conroy off injured. Maybe a dead leg. He had ice on his thigh.

Absolutely true but this was the case last summer and it's exactly the same. It's unforgivable really. A year wasted I think.
Our only intercounty level attacks come from Sean Kelly creating his own overlaps and the forwards can then work one twos. Without him or Comer or Conroy we are Division 2 level.

We have good forwards but they are playing a system that doesn't suit them.Back and forth.Long kick outs instead of changing it up a bit.Its like they are afraid to take shot if it's not with the right person.Even if they manage to get a result its awful to look at.

Someone throw a tape on the height of those Crossbars up there. Morgan made it look awful easy to catch that Tierney effort from over the bar.

Huge win for Galway regards survival (I had predicted 2pt win) but Jesus Galway are painful to watch going backwards and sideways with slow ball!

The commentator on Tg4 said that as well but I suppose it should have benefitted our goalkeeper too.Very lucky win but win is a win.

Massive effort from the team today, clearly had this game targeted and 3 more points from 4 games should keep us up. Well done Galway.

Congrats to PJ and the lads. I know some of our target men are still out but I would like to see a variation in the attack. Handpass #10 seemed to be a weakness today. Speedy recovery to Conroy and Tierney, they might need a couple of weeks off.
Gaillimh Abu though.

A much better performance without many of our senior players. Regardless of the win, which is always helpful, many returning players and the youth brigade got invaluable muscle memory in. Its February and nothing will every be judged this early in the year!

Tyrone packed the defence and we dont have lads able to take points from distance so its recycle and recycle and a very hard watch. I thought Heaney, Tierney, O Flaherty, Maher, Fitzgerald and Finnerty did well. We ground out a win and the ref punished the recycling by blowing it up when Tyrone recycled it instead of taking a kick at the posts at the death, its a valuable 2 points and if we can beat Monaghan it might be enough to stay up. Hope Tierney and Conroy are ok and good to see Sean Kelly back.

Huge win. Beating Tyrone away missing Kelly(bar his brief cameo), Silke, McDaid,Comer, Walsh and Conroy going off at ht . Any county bar Dublin missing that level of quality will struggle. Good day out for the full back line further strengthening our options. Well done to the team and management . With the packed defences it was a hard day to be a forward but once we get a few lads back the overloads coming forward will create more options for the lads inside.

A massive two points that I wasn't sure about this morning. Subs were excellent today, D'Arcy was much better and Daniel O'Flaherty has to start next week. A shame about the injuries, because we've other key player out currently, Silke, Walsh, Comer, McDaid and Glynn. I think Tyrone were only down Meyler and Donnelly. I know the wind was very strong in the first half and it may not have been evident from the TV, but get the ball into Rob asap, he was super on quick ball today. Finally, a few lads on here a few weeks ago doubting Heaney. I hope they are humble enough to acknowledge him this evening.

I have noticed that about not having consistent accurate distance shooters. Conroy always was good and Finnerty and Heaney have it in their locker. I don't know is it a case of the instruction is not to shoot unless the % of converting is high or do they not trust themselves. Either way very important deserved win. 2nd half performance impressive and the O'Flaherty Sweeney axis on the left wing worked well.
