Replying To Gaa_lover:  "Not sure what game you watched. Was plenty of inspiration in the term of team defending and midfield play and the winners Glenn was clinical when when they needed to be.

It will be interesting to see how Glen and Moycullens style of play transfers into Croke Park its could well be two well matched teams cancelling each other out."
What you're describing is perspiration.

It is now a week since the fantastic ladies of Kilkerrin-Clonberne retained their senior club title in Croke Park and brought an All Ireland over the Shannon again into County Galway. Not sure why it did not get a single mention to date in the Galway Forum?

Anytime a team brings an All Ireland over the Shannon into the west should be cherished.

Belated congratulations to the ladies of Kilkerrin-Clonberne. I hope you all enjoyed the celebrations this week.

I think it might have a fever than perspiration. On another note aren't you the same poster that claimed last year Moycullen was a flash in the pan?

No, I'm not. Making up stuff when you've got no reply. Sad.

K-C ladies had been discussed earlier in the thread but maybe not after the final alright. Their achievement is phenomenal, especially the defensive performances all year - a lot of teams could do with seeing how they set up and work at the back. They've been coughing up only a handful of scores in serious games such as against the Munster champions and Burrishoole from Mayo. In the final, I think donaghmoyne only got 3 of their 7 points in the last few mins, when the game was already over as a contest. How a relatively small rural area and pick can produce such a dominant team is hugely impressive. Well done to all involved there, they've very proudly raised the bar and flown the flag for Galway football.

Is it true the KC ladies don't shake hands with any of their opponents after each game? If so what's that about ?

Some transfer news. Finnian Ó Laoi, who came on in the All-Ireland final for Galway, has transferred to Garryowen GAA club in Melbourne

Wish him the best of luck. We're going to see more of this. Killanin lost several players to immigration this year. I imagine many more did too just not as well known as O Laoi. Small clubs will be the hardest hit

State of this country for young people. Awful for older people too but too old to leave/too many commitments. I hope they have the time of their lives and their quality of life improves. Hard for them to leave their families........I know this is a football forum but housing crisis is going to impact clubs . Very sad to see locals with decent jobs with no hope of owning their own home.

Undoubtedly true however many leave for a bit of travel and adventure as well while they are young. Especially after 2 years of Covid.

I know that'll be the reason for some and it's a great opportunity. Just personally I see a lot of people contemplating leaving due to the housing situation when they don't want to go so maybe a bit of projection on my part.

I wish them all the best of luck

Heard his brother and 2 other "Starters" have travelled from his club, 4 from any club is a huge loss. Won't be long now until the big town clubs takeover with the likes of milltown spiddal lettermore kilanin caherlistrane to struggle.

This is correct. A lot more made of us young people leaving these days. 90% of the time its for the enjoyment aspect and seeing the world.

any news on how the extended panel members are getting on in training? will be interesting to see who lines out on friday. we have some very talented players in that group who could very easily make a charge to a starting 15 position if they are driven enough and they get a good run injury wise.

how close is james mcloughlin to a return? is he training with Moycullen yet?

According to PJ it will be the second half of the league before we see sean mulkerrin. thats fair enough. last thing we want is to rush him back.

Kieran Molloy could feature in Championship. ACL's are generally 6 -9 months but I would hate to see him rushed and risk long term damage. I think it happened in September, don't know when the surgery was but recovery timelines would be approx April-June. Match fitness etc on top of that means it would be a big ask.

exciting year a head i think.

Will be interesting to see Friday's team. It will be very experimental but at least we will have to try a new goalkeeper given Gleeson is away with Dunmore. Hopefully someone puts their hand up for this position. Might see Ian Burke for this one as well.

Yeah it would be great to see a list of names to get an idea who is in there at the moment.

As for the goalkeeper, rumour has it Conor Flaherty has walked away, with Damien Boyle (Mountbellew) and Lavelle (Salthill) been given runouts in recent challenge games.

Would be great if PJ used a mix of the new additions (McHugh, Ian Burke, Barrett etc) and some panellists last year who didnt feature much. No point carrying a huge panel if they arent going to see games. This is the place to get an idea.
