I feel loads better about how bad we were watching Waterford and tipp.

April championship seems to be a different beast.

Shocking stuff

Replying To Wexfordgaa:  "My ratings

Fanning 6. Crucial mistake for a 65 from a simple pass back and obviously blazing the pen over the bar. Other than that solid puck outs were better in general

Donughue 6 very nervous every time he's around scored a good point grew into the game

Ryan 7 better performance again grew into the game and maybe concannons fitness a factor . Will need to be better next week against Hayes

Hanlon. 8 very good I was nervous with him on whelan but did excellent crucial block on that 2 on 1 and is growing into corner back

Paudie 8 very good win a lot of ball and distribution much better not the hit and hope we normally associate with him

Reck8 solid as usual won the free at the end and isarguably our best defender

Flood 7 good point and again took a while to get confidence going but looked assured when he settled

Kevin foley 4 never in it seems unsure of his positioning and it is tough when you have been settled in one position for so long

Dee 6 in and out of the game their midfield scored a bit off us. The big slap he got seemed to get him going

Liam og 6 wasn't in the game for long periods

Oisin foley 7 hurled ok I think one of the turning points was when he hit m ininerney on the side line and got the crowd going for the first time really. Unlucky to be taking off

Mcguckian 6 done some ok things maybe not up to championship level yet

Rory 6 pulled and dragged all over the place. Poor balls into him and like Mac has to work so hard for a free. Missed two crucial frees not that they were easy but badly needed worked hard

Mac 9 scored 1 2 gave Burke loads of it and won the penalty best game in a while

Dwyer 4 didn't get into the game at all seemed a bit lost"
Agree with assessment.
Move K. Foley to corner back.
Mcguckian way off.
Dwyer needs to get the head up, carries the ball in to traffic too much, not aware of positioning when we don't have the ball.

Yes Waterford just as poor as Wexford were in the 1st half yesterday, they just fell over the line in the end, against the poorest team in Munster at the moment & the poorest tipp team in the last 25/30 years

Ah that Tipp team would probably win Leinster. Waterford were poor in that first half but not the junior Bs that Wexford were for the first half last night.

Thought it was a great game myself. Intensity levels way up on yesterday. Cork Limerick starting the same.

As I said earlier leinster final should be our goal this year. Need to give new management 3 years

We saw what Waterford did to us a few weeks ago and Tipp pushed them all the way today. That was a cracking game of championship hurling. We've some way to go to get that level. Don't let our comeback yesterday kid us.

Lads we wouldn't have a hope against any of the munster team we played so poor on first half we would have been bet out the gate by half time and just because we glossed it all over with a point against Galway in extra time to get a draw in our own back yard we now think we are not as bad as we showed in the league against Waterford but unfortunately we are and I'm sure we hadn't a tough training session during the week .

A close game. Not a great game.

Riddled with errors.

Far below what you'd expect from these teams in championship hurling.

That team are no better than the top 4 in leinster.

Granted, we were awful for about 45 minutes yesterday.

Unfortunately I have to agree with you after watching limerick today I dread to think what score they would post against galway or wexford

I dunno. Cork are overhyped. Too naive defensively. None of their backs would improve our defence. Horgan is over-rated too.

But yes in isolation, yesterday's first half display was unacceptable. But I'd be more encouraged by our response to adversity yesterday than I am at Cork's today.

I thought Limerick were awesome but I'd give us a chance of beating Cork, Clare or even Tipp. Being honest, were not an All Ireland winning team because I don't think anyone outside of Limerick and perhaps Waterford can realistically win an All Ireland this year. It was always going to be about winning a Leinster championship which is very achievable.
