2022 Wexford Intercounty Hurling

We have a really good team on paper. Lads have put some serious work in too and I'm hoping to see them get the reward for it. All were very disappointed last year in themselves and although management seemed to take most of the blame from those outside the camp the players themselves met earlier in year and fully accepted it was on the pitch where the problems were. A great group of focussed young men won't make that mistake again. Here's hoping for a good result.

That's a good team. Lots of very good talent on that team sheet.

It's a knock out competition, so every day requires focus to perform.

Westmeath are a good side that beat Carlow well last weekend and the game is in Mullingar as well.
It will be a competitive game.

Best of luck to all the team involved!

Will the game be available online? Won't make it to Mullingar due to club game Saturday but would love to see it

Yes i agree Doyler, We were outnumbered big time by Waterford but let's say if we had an equel or greater support in Nowlan park, would we have played better or even won? The answer I'm afraid is no. We were completely flat on the day and the support or lack of it had nothing to do with it.
I do accept however that the supporters have a role to play. As Tiger said in a tight game the roaring crowd could get us over the line but if we play as badly as we did last Sunday week then 100,000 supporters would be no use whatsoever.

Don't think diarmuid Oleary is involved with the 20's but not 100% sure about that. David codd is a fine hurler but not a corner back. He struggled there in minor back in '19. He'd be better in half back line. Other than that I'd say your team could be very close to that which lines out. A lot of these guys were involved last year and I expect to see that reflected in the performance on Saturday

We have a very young team with only 2 lads on their last year. Our young lads are fast and skillful but I expect Wexford to be too physical and powerful on the day. We had a comprehensive win over Carlow last weekend but the step up in class will be evident this weekend, it will be a great learning curve for our lads who we expect to do well next year and the year after.

Thanks WEX98 tried several times yesterday and this morning but closed stand tickets are not available for Dublin game. Open side is but i don't fancy getting soaked if it's a bad day.

You'd wonder why they havent looked into putting a roof on the open side of the park

With young lads, it can go two ways ... they could hurl without any fear and do really well ... or heads can drop if things start to go wrong.
A good 17 or 18 year old can still make an impact at this age grade.

Is your lad involved again this year?

If our lads are bigger than yours it will be the 1st time in years we were bigger than our opponents underage!!!!!

Often wondered that myself. And a steeper slope for the seats. Think that side was terracing with bench seats put on it.

Well I suppose size isn't the end all be all. As they say, skill usually wins out in the end. I expect your lads to be very good and that's that's what we want to be playing against.

Who would you think for the FB line with Kyle Scallan and Dylan Whelan out? We seem well stocked in the HB line.

They are making improvements to the park. Let's hope that's next on the agenda
