Replying To Canuck:  "Viking66 a lot of it just nonsense by people who don't know what they are talking about. Half the present Ballygunner team are related Mahonys and Sullivans and then O'Keeff's . Born and raised in Ballygunner and the Dunmore road.. Dessie Hutchison's grandfather is from Fenor and his daughter married in the Ballygunner area. Dessie senior played for Fenor. Dessie technically could be a Passage player also. Ballygunner do not have all the choices in the area. Waterpark rugby strong as can be seen from the representation for Munster. Waterford city rugby and plenty of soccer presence. I think gunners would be low on the totem pole when it comes to outsiders."
Why don't you go post all this in the Waterford thread?

Is this the Waterford or Wexford thread ? No offence but I'd rather be reading about Wexford hurlers and Wexford club teams

I think it's the Viking66 and Canuck show. Sorry lads only joking. Perhaps though Loyal Model has a point.

Loyalmodel I would prefer if my comments were about the same and are until someone takes a side swipe about something that was not correct. I actually enjoy yere interaction with each other without making any comment. None of these threads belong to any of us and the day they do is the time to shut it all down.

Haven't heard, hopefully fully fit for Dublin. Wouldn't be too worried about the Galway game, we just need to target the Dublin and Kilkenny games, win those two and we're guaranteed a Leinster final appearance.........beat Galway that day.

Heard two different stories, one is that he is out for the year with a bad groin injury and the other from another source saying he hoping to be ok for galway game.so I don't know. Anyone with good inside knowledge on the matter would be great

Which one is rumoured to be out for the year or maybe back for the Galway game? You didn't say in your post. I'd be more concerned about
Chin. Mac just doesn't seem to be able to get into games these days.

Wex98 are you serious? We must target every game. Lose to Galway and we are on the back foot. We have 2 difficult assignments against Dublin and Kilkenny. Beating Galway would give us a cushion and a confidence booster for the rest of the campaign. Yes we probably will beat Laois and Westmeath but the other 3 games will be on a knife edge. We as a county are in no position to disregard any game. Our mission should, and i believe will be to go out with intensity in all five matches. If we don't then we may well have repeats of the horror show against Waterford.

Trying to get back on the Wexford thread.........but seriously I'd prefer to play Dublin first and Galway second.

Congratulations on winning the league! Great job! Well done! I really enjoyed the game; fine tough hurling done.

Drive on now for the championship! Ye're good enough to take Limerick down! Believe!

Replying To Punter72007:  "I think your assessment in spot on.
I think most posters on here are realistic about how far Wexford senior hurlers can go in the Championship this year.
There is a rebuilding plan in place, with a widening of the panel and a new game plan under a new manager.

Things went well in the league until last weekend.
As some other poster asked the question ... how will Wexford do on fast ground against fast runners?
That's a question that we don't know full what the answer is to yet. Waterford asked a lot of tough questions last weekend and we didn't have the answers.
The next 8 weeks will tell us those answers.

A Leinster title is a realistic target if we get all our ducks in a row.
Having said that, it is a realistic target for Kilkenny, Galway and Dublin too because there's only a puck of a ball between those teams.

On a slightly worrying note for Limerick, there is an outside chance both Cork and Waterford could view their games with Limerick as their main target game in the championship.
However Limerick look like they are primed for peaking in May/June/July.
Both Waterford and Cork look like they are ahead of Limerick in the preparation.
Many great teams have not been able to do 3 in a row ... even when you are the best team in the country.
My pecking order is 1. Limerick, 2. Waterford and 3. Cork.
I wonder is there a chance Limerick could get caught cold?"
Fair assessment. Wexford have every chance of winning Leinster . Limerick might not be at the races at all this year. Chances are they will be. Kinnerk and Kiely haven't been far wrong up to now. We'd have great trust in them but to answer your question, Limerick might be well off this year. We will after 20mins in Cork in a couple of weeks. Its hard to look outside Waterford,Limerick and Cork for the All Ireland . Kilkenny as an outside bet and Clare if they can get out of Munster always blossom especially in Croke Park. Galway...who knows with them..they don't know themselves.

Oops! That should've been the actual Waterford thread. Blame the guys who create all these different threads, about the same shyte! It's hurling. It's a bloody game, a hobby!

Hopefully, some time in the next year (or twenty), I can just copy n paste it on here.

I agree. I think it's Limerick, Waterford and Cork out ahead of a chasing pack.
Wexford can do well in Leinster and winning Leinster would be a very good year given we have a new manager, new faces on the panel and a new style of play. It takes a while to fit all the pieces together and we are on the right road.

Heard from a good source that Wexford trained the Saturday evening of the Waterford game and also that Chin was training on Wednesday night by himself, just running, down in Ferns.
Don't really understand that myself but it makes sense considering how flat we were.
I still think we are a great bet to win Leinster.
Also Dee O'Keeffe should have been midfield on that team of the year, picking Daly from Waterford was a joke.

I f we don't beat Dublin we don't deserve to be in contention for anything, thats the reality.

Taught 1 of Reck or O'Hanlon would have been worth a spot too, probably O'Hanlon who was very good over the duration of the league. Any word on Conor Mac?
