Replying To Fulgrim:  "Personally I'd make two changes here; I think Devitt has earned his spot in the corner over Donohue and Chin has to be in instead of O. Foley. Not because Oisin has done anything wrong but we really need to get game time into Chin before championship and I feel he's too important to us to be left on the bench."
Thought Donohoe did well on Sunday and Devitt struggled for the first time this year. He was marking Lehane though who has been flying this year.
I would like to see Chin start also but hard to see how he would be ready to start after such a long lay off and he wasn't able to feature at all on Sunday .

Championship starting team:

1. Fanning
2. Donohue
3. Liam Ryan
4. Shane Reck
5. Matt O' Hanlon
6. Paudie Foley
7. Connal Flood
8. Dee O Keeffe
9. Damien Reck
10. Kevin Foley
11. Lee Chin
12. Liam Og
13. Rory O'Connor
14. Conor McDonald
15. Cathal Dunbar

Subs (in no particular order) - 16. Lawlor, 17. Jack O' Connor 18. Corey Byrne Dunbar 19. Mikey Dwyer 20. Oisin Foley 21. Paul Morris 22. Conor Devitt 23. Oisin Pepper 24. Rory Higgins 25. Conor Hearne 26. Charlie McGukian

Thats still the team id go for against Galway but Jack O' Connor, Mikey Dwyer, Paul Morris, Oisin Foley and Rory Higgins will all end up starting championship matches for Wexford this year and none of them would weaken then team. We appear to be in a decent spot.

The seniors are flying yes and it's brilliant to see, wouldn't it be great to win the league!!! so lookin forward to a real game the weekend, very hard to know where teams are really at to be honest and IL judge Wexford after this game, loads of positives tho, loads of lads gettin games that look like they can cut it which is great to see,but I'm just not sure yet!!! On the U20s I heard they played cork recently and were comfortably beating that's all iv heard anyone hear anything about them???I recently heard that the minors drew with Galway so I would say that's a positive goin forward, think they play this weekend!!!20s seem to have a good set up Keith rossiter,Rory Jacob over them??not sure who's involved with minors anyone know???

Don't want to be getting carried away but this is a nice position to be in.

I can't remember the last time I struggled to pick our best 15/23.

Either way, it's the strongest bench we've possibly ever had.

We will need them all this year.

Replying To Viking66:  "You are still missing the point Canuck. Head shots can be very dangerous intentional or not. Thats why the rule was introduced. To prevent accidents happening. By the rules of the game Foran had to go. Theres no leeway for accidental contact in them."
Education, training and attitudes won't change unless the sanction is red. However even in rugby still you have people who do not understand why it has to be that way, GAA is the same, full of lads who say, in my day that was not even a yellow.

Think Kyle Scallan and Richie Lawlor picked up injuries for the u20s, Scallan is a broken finger I think while Richie had a protective boot on his foot in the park on Sunday.

Micheal Jacob jnr is joint manager of the minors with a Horeswood man whose 2nd name is Ennis, can't remember his 1st name of the top of my head, he managed Horeswood in hurling last year.

Replying To wexico15:  "I think alot of the senior schools players are 18 or 19 so that wouldn't be the best measuring stick, I don't know much about the team, I believe Simon Roche from Oulart and Cillian Byrne from Fethard (younger brother of Cian) from last year's team are underage again, Byrne was on the GCC team that won Leinster but was the youngest player on the team."
Eoghan Lyng from the Rower was youngest player on team. And was also another player younger than Cian Byrne also.

Replying To Canuck:  "I have no complaints either when a Waterford player is sent off for a pre meditated cheap hit like Conor Gleeson did to Joe. This was a player going in to give a legal shoulder and it went wrong accidentally by the player starting to go down. Kilkenny play hard and don't make a meal out of things. Darragh Lyons also took a hit and was bleeding from the face but got up like the Kilkenny player and got on with it and I also appreciate that.. Darragh a small little guy but can give and take it.
I was not at the football game in Dungarvan but from a friend who never gets excited said he has never seen anything like it in all his years of playing and watching. Four Waterford players sent off while two of their players just a bout decapitated and only yellows. Consistency is all you can ask for. Not sure you can blame the refs or the instructions they are been given. One way or the other help required."
It's a bit of common theme however isn't it, Waterford men being sent off?

Richie Lawlor and Kyle scallan out for the first round of championship with broken bones in foot and finger respectively. Big blow for the u20's

Heard Reck has a serious tear in his hamstring and is unlikely to see action anytime soon. He's another unfortunate one.

Agree 100%

It's amazing that not even a year after Davy re-introduced two lads who were spent in lieu of actual subs that we have an abundance of options to choose from now. Hell, not even too long before that, we could basically name 90-odd% of those that would feature on any given matchday and would require everyone to play above themselves to get a result.

I really hope it stays this way though, and am starting to get concerned about Chin's situation in particular, while Shane Reck appears to pick up injuries frequently too just as he is starting to nail-down a spot in a competitive line.

Bring on the Deise Sunday.

O' hear you go again Waterford hater. The easiest thing to say to you is yes it is always Waterford players getting sent off. No one else has ever or is ever sent off. Right ?

I think Canuck it might be time to note the title of the thread and move your whinging over to the Waterford page.
FWIW, I don't think there is anybody in Wexford who hates Waterford. In fact, I would say that once Wexford are beaten most people shout for Waterford.
But anyway, the Waterford red card is NOT a "2022 Wexford Intercounty Hurling" matter.
