Surprised how strong of a team is selected talking 10-11 championship starters I'd say, was at the meet and greet yesterday with a few excited nephews, taught it was well organised, in the bit of training they did Chin took a full part, none of the u20s were in attendance.

As was pointed out by an earlier post Bailey has picked up another cruciate. Not sure about Shane Reck. Strong team announced. Strength in every line. It's obvious that Darragh Egan wants this team to keep on winning. To keep the momentum going and instill a winning mentality in the side. There is a good sprinkling of the newer lads, with Corey Byrne Dunbar,Oisin Foley, Devitt and we will see more as the game progresses. Good to see Ryan back. He needs gametime to get him up to speed. Im sure Chinner will be introduced at some stage. What a cheer he will get when he runs onto the pitch. I don't know how strong a team Cork will bring along but even though it's a dead rubber game i can't see them experimenting too much. To win 5 games on the trot would be great. Its something that i don't think we have done since 96. I'm sure some of you out there will correct me if I'm wrong. Should be a big crowd there tomorrow and a good atmosphere.

Very tough on Gavin Bailey, the height of bad luck.

I expect Lee Chin to get 20 minutes or so today and it is a good game to ease him back into competitive action.

Darragh Egan has a nice squad now built up for championship so we never ever have a scenario again like last year when lads who could barely walk with cramp were brought back on again in extra-time in the Leinster semi against Kilkenny.

Great first half, let Cork back into it,but again pulled away at the end.5 from 5 can't ask for more, well done to all involved, only worry chin did not get any minutes, just an aside that's the third match I've been at in the park where the scoreboard has not worked & it's hard to understand the pa when they are giving the score with all that mumbling, please sort it out before the Galway match,NOT GOOD ENOUGH

Sounds like semi vs Waterford will be in Nowlan Park Sunday afternoon, Cork and Kilkenny have a home and away agreement so that's in Pairc ui Chaoimh next weekend.

100% on the scoreboard, going on about 3 months now. Should be an easy fix.

Chin warmed up in front of me a good few times in the second half.

Seemed to be sprinting and twisting and turning fairly well with the other subs.

Hopefully next weekend.

Mixed performances today. Half back line did well . Devitt struggled on Lehane while I thought Dunbar was dumbly on the ball. Dee was excellent and has really started the year well. Oisin Foley was good and so was Mac. Rory was just unplayable . He is such a joy to watch and must be up there as the top hurler In the country at the moment . McGuckian played well when he came on and Pepper looked lively. Disappointed Chin didn't get a run was hoping to see him at some stage today .

Wouldn't read anything at all into that game. Cork looked like they couldn't care less we fell asleep for 20 minutes in the second half and still won handy enough. We learned nothing except that it takes us over 2 months to fix a scoreboard.

Looking forward to the Waterford game hopefully it will be two full strength teams in a proper game.

There were about a million times the scoreboard was working and I didn't like what I saw up there over the years so I won't dwell on that on a day when I saw an absolutely brilliant performance by our hurlers.
No matter what happens in the semi it has been our best league in my memory. Who would have thought we would have topped a group with Limerick Clare Galway and Cork. Huge credit deserved by all involved. The panel looks completely refreshed and everyone has had a lot of meaningful game time and our subs now don't weaken the team when they come on. Darragh Egan deserves massive credit. Nowlan Park would be much better than Thurles but I think table toppers should have home advantage for semis.

Great result although both teams will be very different come championship. Waterford will provide a different test I feel.

It's embarrassing that we couldn't have a scoreboard g go or the match. Even a temporary manual version would have sufficed. Very poor!!!

Happy with the result. Some great performances. Particular shout out to fanning who I thought played very well. Great shot stopping, most puckouts found their men, and he often helped put the defence by giving an option.

Full back line was okay. A few dodgy moments that would be punished in championship.
We struggled to stop their running game at times, especially early in 2nd half.

O keeffe was excellent. Delighted to see Oisin Foley cementing his place. Rory… well Rory was Rory!!!… unplayable at times.

Conor Mac had a good game too. Gets fouled a lot but refs tend to miss it!!!!

Corey BD went well but thought at times if he lost possession he didn't chase and try win back the ball. However, he has undoubted ability.

Our subs made a difference, in particular mcguckian who gets through a lot of tough dirty work.

Well done all.

Even accounting for more rotation from Cork you'd have to be happy again with yesterday's outing on the whole, taught we did get sopply at times particularly 3rd quarter while Cork did at times too, taught the pitch condition didn't help with a few pick ups etc for both teams. That work there doing on the surface later in the year looks like it's really needed. Fanning has really become so comfortable and confident in his role as a sweeper keeper, while it did look like Devitt struggled at times I think it must be remembered he was in my opinion marking Cork's best performer on the day in Lehane, Kevin Foley at centre back was very interesting, think its the 1st time I remember him playing in a defensive role directly marking an opposition forward, he's really been tried out in different positions so far this year, with Dee dropping back they were almost like 2 centre backs, taught Dee and clubmate Liam Og got through a huge amount of work and both played really well. Corey Byrne Dunbar did well for a 1st start for a 18/19 year old while Rory really looks to have moved to another level, 3-16 from play in 4 league games speaks volumes, poor Niall O'Leary probably had nightmares about him last night, was thinking at half time that his influence on the game in the 1st half reminded me of Matty Forde in his pomp. McGuckin did really well when introduced setting up a couple of important scores at a time when Cork had started to wrestle the momentum, finally on the game how in gods name was Conor Mac not getting frees and penalties in the 2nd half for constantly getting manhandled.

Tough and good test next weekend, hope it is in Nowlan Park getting a run out there before meeting Kilkenny in championship on May 21. Think its our 1st competitive meeting with Waterford since 2018 league, did play them in 2 challenge games in 2020. As things worked out I think we would have played every 1A and 1B team except Antrim so far this year as we played Dublin, KK and Laois in Walsh Cup and Tipp in a challenge game I'm January.
