Thanks for the team. Any idea of who scored or played well, or any report anywhere we could read? Thanks

Having seen the Tipp team I would be disappointed to not get a win but it is only a challenge game so not too much can be read into it. Tipp had only one regular starter playing in Barry Heffernan where as we had 7/8 lads who started most games last year. Interesting to see Liam Ryan at center back, hard to see him being left there even he goes well as he is too good to take out full back in my opinion. Did any subs impress? A few nice hurlers there in the subs but overall I think a lot of them are too light for intercounty. I personally thing our biggest issue this year will be physicality in the forwards, I cant see many of the lads used today competing with big half back lines on puck outs, unless Darragh Egan can get us playing a brand of hurling that allows us get the best out of them. Looking forward to the game next week in the park, I would expect a big crowd to go in to have a look in our first home game. Presume it is only 5k allowed in.

Yeah went up, Charlie Mcguckin played very well, Mikie Dwyer, Jacko and Dee probably best after that, Devitt did well again.

Looking at the lads that have played the last 2 weeks ( 38 or 39 I think) along with recent regular panellists ( Chin, Murphy etc.) and oilgate players I'm guessing there must about 50 in training at the moment, wouldn't be surprised if they've to cut to about 35 before the league.

Cian Byrne probably best of the subs, took over the frees to and got them all, worst aspects from today were struggling to win ball in the forwards, Mcguckin did do well here, he looks to have filled out alot, also Tipp created another 2 or 3 goal chances on top of the 2 they got both Fanning and Lawlor pulled off very good saves, they picked a very physically strong team, in fairness I'd say there's plenty of good hurlers in Tipp who wouldn't have a big profile, taught Sheedy was too loyal to the old guard after the 2019 all Ireland, very few of their recent underage all Ireland winners got chances under him.

We were well on top in the 1st half, 7 up at 1 stage, Tipp got a goal about 5 mins before half time, HT score was 0-16 1-9, they took over in the 2nd half, Jake Morris introduced at half time made a big difference. Sorry didn't take what players scored what.

Lots of good young talent there . Really looking forward to Kilkenny game on Sunday . Interesting to see Jack Cullen in the squad . Himself Liam Ryan and Paudie Foley could be a towering half back line . Anyone know how injuries to Chin and Murphy are ?

I would not consider that a bad result to be fair.

There are plenty of hurlers in tipp and I certainly wouldn't say it was our strongest team either.

We'll know a bit more next weekend.

Seems they're allowed to work with a panel of 50 at the moment due to close contact rules etc.

That could well continue for the league depending on the situation.

The 2nd half team we had on the pitch included a good few lads who wouldnt be sure of a place in the 35 if the panel was cut back from 50. Obviously impossible to read anything into a challenge game at this time of year but its heartening to see so many different lads getting a run out and wanting to be part of the new set up.

Kilkenny had hardly any familiar names in their team v Laois yesterday so will be interesting to see if they persist along similar lines next Sunday. They're obviously without the sizeable ballyhale contingent at the moment. Seems darragh Egan is casting the net far and wide to unearth new faces which is good to see

Meanwhile, Davy would still be persisting with the same faces. Although he might give a fella a token game, claim he is looking to add fresh blood, and subsequently never use said player again come the league.

Yes Wexford Park but on Saturday at 2 now, I presume the reason is it would have clashed with Ballyhale's All Ireland semi final if played on Sunday.

Yes at 2pm - any word on tickets or allocation as would expect big crowd.

Just to point out that the match v Kilkenny next weekend has been changed to Saturday. I believe it's to accommodate any Kilkenny folk who also want to attend or watch Ballyhale in the club semi-final on Sunday.

Match is fixed for Wexford Park at 2 p.m.

5,000 allowed unless the restrictions are updated between now and the weekend.
