Tinahely's three-day festival of football

A wonderful crowd turned up at Tinahely GAA grounds on Friday evening last to welcome GAA President Nicky Brennan as he performed the official opening of the new clubhouse and the town was en fete in red and white for the occasion.
Juvenile players in their jerseys formed a guard of honour for the Kilkenny man who was accompanied by Dr Michael Morris, club chairman, club president Pat Doyle and county chairman Andy O'Brien. Sean Kelly from Greystones led the parade with his pipes.
Nicky Brennan complemented the county board members for their attendance and he said he was glad to seem so many public representatives there also. Mr Brennan said that he was pleased to be in Tinahely and wished the club well in the future and hoped that the great work that they are doing 'will bear fruit on the playing fields. '
