Hyland makes hurling return
July 04, 2008
Wicklow hurling manager John Mitchell received a good timely boost recently knowing that Don Hyland has abandoned his sabbatical and returned to the county team.
The Carnew player returned to training with the squad last week and according to the manager the former Railway Cup winner is hurling better than ever. "Don Hyland is one of the best hurlers that Wicklow has ever produced and he is playing better than ever at the moment. He is the best player I have ever seen and even though aged 35 years, he still has a huge contribution to the county team," said the manager.
"I would say he is still one of the best hurling forwards in the whole country; he is gifted, stylish and he never complains. His return to the squad will give a great lift to the team and it is just great that he has answered the call."
