Leinster is unchartered territory for Kennedy's men

Baltinglass captain Jason Kennedy has described Sunday's Leinster club SFC clash with Sean O'Mahony's as a "journey into the unknown".

It will be the 1990 All-Ireland champions' first taste of provincial football since 1994. When they last won the Wicklow SFC title in 2007, they were unable to play in Leinster because the county championship wasn't completed on time.

"When I go out to play in the senior club championship, I know my opponent, what foot he kicks off, his strengths and weaknesses. And he knows mine," Kennedy is quoted in the Irish Sun.

"When you're going out and playing someone from another county, it's a bit of a journey into the unknown and you have to adapt. But we're excited."

Sean O'Mahony's won the Louth SFC title for the first time in their history earlier this month on the back of claiming Leinster club IFC honours in 2014.

"Sean O'Mahony's have experience of doing that (playing in Leinster) from 2014, albeit at intermediate level. But I'd see that as a slight advantage because none of our team has been involved in a Leinster club competition," Kennedy added.
