AGB vs. Barndarrig
May 21, 2012
Barndarrig 1-12
AGB 0-12
The junior team lost out narrowly to a well drilled Barndarrig outfit in a top of the table clash on Thursday evening. Missing a few players and playing away from home, AGB can take a lot of positives out of this match, especially considering the opposition reached the county final at this grade last year.
A bright start from forwards Karl Kirwan and Freddie Millar saw the Arklow side take an early lead before the home team fought back to lead 0-7 to 0-4 at the break. Fine points from defenders Ian Bracken, Alan McBride and Christopher Earls closed the gap before a fortunate Barndarrig goal swung the balance back their way and ended up being the difference between the two sides at the final whistle. The two sides will meet again in the championship in what will again likely be another hard fought game.
