BLESSINGTON GAA NOTES
Our Senior team are through to the Semi Final of the championship,the lads beat Stratford/Grangecon 3-11 to 0-6 on Sunday last in Aughrim. They lads played very well on the day from start to finish.They now play Rathnew in the semi final which we believe is the 12th Sept. Thanks to all the supporters that travelled and we need you back again on the 12th. Scorers were Paul McLoughlin 1-3, Dean Siney 0-5,Jonathan Daniels 1-1,David Behan 1-0, Michael McLoughlin 0-1. Well done to all involved. Best of luck to our Junior A team who play Enniskerry on Sat in Laragh in the championship. Best of luck also to our Junior C team who play Valleymount in Donard on Friday night next. Our Ladies received a walkover from Carnew in the B Championship. We thank Niamh Carroll who travelled up from Kerry for this match,but unfortunately it was a wasted journey.The next development draw is the 10th September it was changed from Fri 27th Aug. Thanks to all that helped out with the Junior A championship match in the pitch on Sat last. The club send deepest sympathy to the Ryan Family Tinode on the death of Josephine in Spain and to the Glennon Family Hollywood.

BLESSINGTON GAA JUVENILE NOTES
Our U16 team started off the week with a great win over Avondale 5-18 to 2-6 in the championship.The lads play Augh/Anna On Mon night in their next match.Scorers were David Boothman 2-3,Ian Richardson 1-5,Johnny Kelly 1-4, Mikey O Connor 0-3,Jordan Nolan 1-0,Conor Devlin, Mark Carroll,Thomas Donohoe 0-1 each.Our U12 hosted the county blitz again last Monday well done to all the lads who took part.Our U14 team had a very convincing win over Eire Og on Wed night in Greystones. The lads start their championship campaign on Wed night win a home match against St Kevins.Our Allen cup team finished off a great week in Juvenile football for our club. The lads had a great win over St Nicholas 7-8 to 1-5. The lads played some great football and this was evident in the scoreline. The last time the club won this was 1986, so it was time for it to take a trip back to Blesso.Geraldine Boothman was delighted to present the cup to our captain Peter Manning. Man of The match was Patrick O Connor (Whacker).Scorers were Patrick O Connor 2-1,Ronan Corcoran 2-0,Aidan Connolly,Conor Kenny & Jordan Walsh 1-1 each,Martin Shannon 0-2,Adam O Connor & Peter Manning 0-1 each.Thanks to Mick O Rourke for the garda escort throught the town and to Ronan & Sinead Hennessy for all they did for the lads after the match.Thanks to the Allen family for this wonderful cup that every child loves to win. Best of luck to all our young members who start primary school on Wed and to all our older members who start Secondary school. Well done to all the management involved in the various teams this week indeed a great week for the club.
