BLESSINGTON GAA NOTES

Hard luck to our Junior A Team who lost out to Ballinacor by just 2pts. A great performance by all the panel on the day,the lads fought very hard and will build on this performance in their last two matches.Thanks to everyone that helped out with the team on the day,some that came in at short notice. Scorers were Eddie Boylan 1-3,Troy Francis,Curtis Geraght and David Brennan 1pt. Well done to our Junior C team who had a big win over Kilbride on Thurs , the lads now prepare for championship on Friday 3rd Sept against Valleymount. Best wishes to Our Senior team who play Stratford/Grangecon in the quarter final of the championship. Thanks to everyone that supported our Development Draw your support is really appreciated. We had 3 winners Thersa Leigh & Jonathan Daniels €2000, Ruairi O Connor C/O John Magee Snr €250, Friday Footballers C/O John Walsh €250, Well done to you all. Hard luck to Wicklow ladies who were beaten by a point against Louth, in particular to our own Niamh Carroll, Mick O Rourke & Mike Broderick. Blessington GAA Juvenile Notes

Well done to our U14's who beat Michael Dwyers in the 2009 South West Final. There was no contest at all in this final. Jimmy Birchill presented the cup to a delighted ian Richardson. Man of the match was Barry Finan, and fully deserved. Scorers were Ian Richardson 3-4,Declan McEnroy 3-1,Jordan Nolan & Conor Devlin 1-2, Mikey O Connor 0-4, Johnny Kelly 0-3,Arron Reneghan 1-0,Barry Finan 0-2,Ciaran McEnroy 0-1.Well done to our U13's who beat Michael Dwyers in the Allen Cup,scorers Patrick O Connor 1-7,Peter Manning Manning 3-0,Caolan McGorman 0-3,Martin Shannon,Ronan O Malley & Adam Boland 0-1 each,Jordan Walsh 0-2. the lads now play St Nicholas in the final on Sunday 29th, please get out and support thse lads in the final. Well done to our U8 & u10's who took part in the Go Games in Donard last Sunday. Our U12's will host a county blitz in the pitch on Monday 23rd. Well done to our U16's who beat Michael Dwyers last Mon in the league,we are waiting for word but we believe the lads have won the league. the lads will play Avondale in the 1st match of the champ on Mon at home.
