SHC group games draw to a close
August 19, 2010
This weekend sees the last round of senior hurling championship group games down for decision and there is still plenty to play for all the teams.
The action kicks off on Friday evening when two upcoming sides Avondale and Bray Emmets meet at Ashford. Both sides are after having morale boosting wins in the last round, but a youthful Emmets side could just have the edge here.
In the second of the weekend's matches, Glenealy and Kiltegan do battle and although the rivalry of days gone by has elapsed, this should be an interesting affair with Glenealy going in as favourites.
Carnew will be strong favourites to see off the challenge of Arklow Rock Parnells in the last action of the weekend as the championship favourites continue their quest to lift the title.
