Blessington GAA club notes
August 09, 2010JUNIOR A TEAM: The lads lost to Baltinglass on Fri in champ. Down by 2 points at half time.The lads fought back and scored a goal from a penalty. We went two points ahead and Balto got a goal from then on we were chasing the game but the lads fought very hard right to the end. Scorers Eddie Boylan 1-2, Troy Francis 0-3, Gerry Phibbs 0-2. They play Ballinacor next on Sat 21st Aug in Greystones. On Tues next the lads play Kiltegan away in the league and on Sun next they will play Valleymount at home at 11.30am.
JUNIOR C TEAM: Lads play Valleymount in the league away this Thurs night away.Junior C Champ should be coming very shortly.
LADIES SENOR TEAM: The ladies will play Valleymount in the 2nd match of their championship on tonight Wed in Blessington at 7.30pm. We wish them the best of luck and ask for lots of vocal support the girls need to win this one to stay in contention.
Congratulations to Wicklow U14 Ladies who won the Div 2 Leinster Blitz last Monday, especially to our own club player Trina Hennessy. Well done to Wicklow Senior ladies who beat Wexford by 2pts in Hollywood on Sunday,especially to our own club members Niamh Carroll, Mick O Rourke & Mike Broderick.We wish them well in their next match,we have no details of this yet.
DEVELOPMENT DRAW:The date is fast approaching for the 1st draw on 20th August. LOTTO: No winner of our jackpot last week of €1200. There was only one winner of the match 3 Danny Walsh who collected a cheque for €300. Well done Danny. U8 & U10: The lads enjoyed Go Games in Dunlavin on Sat last, a lot of people on holidays so it was great to get some of our players out.U12 blitz will be held on Mon 9th at 7pm. This has been organised by Coiste Na nOg.Our U13 Allen Cup team had a big win over Baltinglass on Sat 6-15 to 2-5.A great performance by all the lads alot of them playing together for the first time. Scorers, Patrick O Connor 1-5,Ronan Corcoran 2-1,Conor Kenny 1-2,Martin Shannon 1-2,Sean Mc Crohan 1-0,Dara Richardson 0-2,Ronan O Malley 0-2 & Joe Broderick 0-1. Next match at home Wed night at 7pm against St Kevin's.U14 2009 lads received a walkover from Baltinglass on Fri last, they now play St Kevin's in the semi final, we won the toss so match will be in Blessington on Fri night next 20th at 7pm and the winners play Michael Dwyer's in the final.U16 lads play St Kevin's at home on Mon night 9th at 7.30pm. It has been a long time since the lads had a fixture so please get out and support them. Our U8 & U10 hurlers will take part in the Go Games on Fri night in Hollywood.Minors had a great win on Wed last against St Pat's. Scorers were Kyle Geraghty 3-5, Eoin Devlin 0-5, Govenor,Dean McGarr & Conor Devlin 1-0 each, Christy Walsh & Stephen Cashin 0-1 each. The lad's play Michael Dwyer's on Wed night away. LADIES U12 & U14: They U12's play Valleymount at home Thurs night at 7pm. Well done to Trina Hennessy who was part of the Wicklow team to win the Div 2 Leinster Blitz last week. Tweet
