SFC Qualifier: Wicklow make light of double red
July 04, 2009

Fermanagh's Seamus Quigley keeps a close eye on Wicklow's Leighton Glynn during the Qualifier match at Aughrim
Wicklow 0-17
Fermanagh 1-11
Wicklow made light of the dismissal of Tony Hannon and Thomas Walsh to book their place in the second round of the All-Ireland qualifiers at the expense of Fermanagh at Aughrim.
Hannon had scored the bulk of his side's points before seeing red for a second bookable offence before the half-time break.
Buoyed by that decision, Fermanagh goaled through James Sherry to go in one point ahead at the break (1-5 to 0-7).
Wicklow were down to 13 men when Walsh was dismissed five minutes from time but by that stage Mick O'Dwyer's men had forged into a four-point lead.
Seamie Furlong, JP Dalton, Paul Earls and Walsh were all in scoring form after half-time and in the end Fermanagh were unable to make the most of their advantage in personnel.
