Juniors crash to narrow defeat

Wicklow's chances of reaching a Leinster Junior Football Championship final this season were crushed last week when they fell to Longford by a single point at Devine Park.
The Garden men finished up on the wrong side of a 0-8 to 0-7 score-line, after missing a couple of late chances and conceding an injury-time point to Longford substitute Wille Skelly.
Longford now march on to a provincial final meeting with Louth, while Wicklow must wait until next year if they are to make a real mark on the eastern province in the junior grade.
