Minor

Castletown Geoghegan and Clonkill were the pairing in the Minor Hurling Final which was played in Cusack Park on the 1st of October:

Clonkill went into this match as underdogs. We played the first half with the assistance of strong breeze and at half time the Clonkill side lead 2-8 to 2-4 whilst ahead this was worrying, would this be enough of a lead to come out and defend and play against a strong breeze. Clonkill emerged back out on the field after half time and if it was possible they had more passion and fight in them than they had in the first half. In a game like this there were many players that had fine performances, however the most noticeable attribute of this team was their continuing team play, they hunted in packs. When the ball was not in their possession the worked harder to gain possession.

The following was the panel: Josh Duncan, Eoghan Egerton, Ryan Moran, Stephen Sheridan, Jamie Coffey, Ciaran Nolan, Jordie Smyth, Mickey McGrath, Oisin Dowdall, Luke Kenny, Joe Moran, Oisin Murphy, Liam Moran, Conor Coloe, Darragh McLaughlin, Matthew Glynn, Liam Faulkner, Conor Dunne, Ryan Mannering, Adam Conneely, Ciaran Gavigan, Stephen Wynne, Cillian Doyle, Evan Scally, Paul Mulligan and Reece Bardon

A delighted Ciaran Nolan accepted the cup on behalf of Clonkill.

The final score was 3-15 Clonkill to 3-10 Castletown.

Thank you to Pat O'Toole Team Manager and the selectors Christopher Scally Jody Moran and Tommy Keegan.

Thank you to Cathal McKeown our team physio.
