One of the main reasons for Waterford's run to the All-Ireland SHC semi-final has been the positioning of Jamie Barron at midfield.

The energetic Fourmilewater club man has covered every blade of grass during this year's championship and he has been the 'find' of the season, even though he has been a part of the side for the last few years.

Barron and Kevin Moran have formed a formidable partnership and he admitted that the work rate amongst all the players was the key to their run to the semi-final where they will face Kilkenny at Croke Park on Sunday.

"Work rate is our bench mark," said Barron. "We talk about what we want to do but underlying all of that is the workrate.

"If you don't work hard, you're not going to win any game no matter who you're playing. Work rate has to be one hundred per cent all of the time and we're sticking to that this year so far so it's working well for us."
