Waterford minor captain Shane Ryan has been named the WLR FM/Granville Hotel GAA Sportstar for July.

Ryan has guided his charges through to the All-Ireland minor hurling championship semi final where they will face Kilkenny at Croke Park on Sunday afternoon.

The Waterford captain scored a late goal to force a draw against Limerick in the Munster final. However, they did lose the replay to the Shannonsiders.

Ryan was to the fore in the All-Ireland quarterfinal though as his two goals helped propel Waterford past Dublin and into the semis. Tweet
