Dublin and Monaghan dominate our football team of the week...

1. Graham Brody (Laois)

Had to pick the ball out of his net twice on Saturday evening but was equal to Diarmuid Connolly's 69th minute penalty.

2. Ryan Wylie (Monaghan)

The holders advanced to an Ulster SFC final date with the winners of Donegal v Fermanagh thanks to their demolition of Down in Clones.

3. Drew Wylie (Monaghan)

Wylie and his Farney County team-mates restricted the Mourne men to just six points from play during the course of the 70 minutes.

4. Jonny Cooper (Dublin)

Conceded a second-half penalty to Laois, which Paul Cahillane duly converted, but, overall, was one of Dublin's better defensive performers.

5. James McCarthy (Dublin)

A trademark McCarthy run set up Diarmuid Connolly for the All-Ireland champions' second goal and the Ballymun Kickhams clubman was a class apart.

6. Cian O'Sullivan (Dublin)

Wasn't as prominent as usual but went about his business in a workmanlike manner before being replaced in the 58th minute.

7. Darragh O'Hanlon (Down)

O'Hanlon was one of the few Down players to perform up to scratch against Monaghan.

8. Darren Hughes (Monaghan)

The latest in a long list of top drawer performances from the Scotstown man.

9. Karl O'Connell (Monaghan)

Along with Hughes, O'Connell completely dominated the midfield exchanges and laid the foundations for their comprehensive victory.

10. Ciaran Kilkenny (Dublin)

The gifted Kilkenny sent over four points as Dublin got the defence of their Leinster title off to a winning start in Nowlan Park.

11. Kieran Hughes (Monaghan)

Down had no answer to Hughes' appetite for hard graft and he pick-pocketed the Mourne County to the tune of 1-2.

12. Diarmuid Connolly (Dublin)

Was uncharacteristically off target on a number of occasions, including from the penalty spot, but still finished with 1-4 and his goal was a thing of beauty.

13. Conor McManus (Monaghan)

Monaghan are up and running and an eight point return proves that McManus & Co aren't going to relinquish their title without a serious fight.

14. Dean Rock (Dublin)

Set the tone for the Dubs' 11 point dismantling of the O'Moore County and finished as the sky blues' top scorer with 1-10 (1-4 from play).

15. Donie Kingston (Laois)

The Laois captain's physical presence caused some problems for the Dublin full-back line.
