Kerry Boston GAA Results

August 04, 2015

Once again it was a story of two halves. Kerry were on board early with 4 points - 2 from Ronan Kennedy, 2 from Shane O'Callaghan. Christopers struck back with points by Mark Delaney and Ryan Harkin and what then looked like being a contest turned into a rout as Christophers completely dominated scoring at will while Kerry struggled to raise a flag. Cathal Voighan had a goal and 5 points. Mark Delanew also had hit shooting boots on. Ronan Kennedy had 2 more points for Kerry and David Larkin added another but there was no stopping St. Christophers who went in at the half 11 points to the good on a score line of 2-12 to 0-7. The pep talk at half time did little for Kerry as some heads were beginning to hang but an unusual move by the selectors just 5 minutes of the restart, they emptied their bench all at once. Whether is was just pride by the subs or they just wanted to make a statement and that they did as the sides were level with just a few minutes left to play. Goals by Tom Kenny and Ronan Kennedy put new life into the team and points by Pa Wren, David Larkin, Tom Kenny, John O'Keefe, Ronan Kennedy and Christophers were lucky to be still in the running for a play off spot. A brilliant effort in the second half by Kerry but that was the story for Kerry all year. So close and yet no luck. One thing for sure this group of players can be very proud of themselves. Also the trainers, managers and selectors put in a hard year of training and most importantly looking after players well being all through the year - so roll on 2016. As far as the championship is concerned, this has been the best in many with any of the 7 remaining teams capable of winning the Pat Mulvihill trophy. So from all of the Kerry team managers and supporters keep on playing top class football. We wish you all nothing but the best. God bless the GAA.
