St. Patrick's GAA Club, Connecticut, will host its 5th Annual Gaelic Games Youth Summer Camp.

Fairfield CT.  St. Patrick's GAA Club, of Fairfield, Connecticut, will host its 5th Annual Gaelic Games Youth Summer Camp, from June 29th to July 3rd on the campus of Notre Dame High School.

For the past five summers,  St. Patrick's has hosted approximately 100 boys and girls each year, including many children that have never played Gaelic football, hurling, or camogie, with superb coaching staff from both Ireland and the United States.

This annual event "brings the whole Irish and Irish American community together," said Mike O'Connor, the Co. Wexford native & Club Hurling Development Officer, "and has been a building block for both individual player development and attracting new players and families to the GAA in Connecticut."

Tom Quinn, the former standout Westmeath (NY) and NY GAA Player of the Year - and current Coach of St. Patrick's U12 and U14 teams - said, "the coaches that come out from Ireland each summer are an important part of this camp as the players are exposed to the very best drills and exercises that promote skills development."

"Friday is my favorite day of camp," said Jimmy Feeney, Camp Director, "players are encouraged to invite their parents and grandparents to join us for the afternoon as the players demonstrate all the skills that they have learned in camp by playing games and participating in skills related events.  Parents can also clearly see how much fun and enjoyment their children have when playing Gaelic games."
