As 2,000 children paraded in Yonkers along the predominantly Irish MacLean Avenue to mark the start of the 2014 CYC, one little boy from the Ottawa Gaels summed up the mood best when he said' Yonkers has gone bonkers!'

230 teams from Boston to Buffalo and from San Francisco to the Sperrin Ogs joined in the party atmosphere to celebrate the 10th year of the CYC (Continental Youth Championships) and to also mark the 100th year of New York GAA.

GAA President Liam O'Neill proudly addressed the largest youth gathering of its kind outside of Ireland and he was joined on stage by LGFA President Pat Quill, LGFA President-Elect Marie Hickey and Camogie President Aileen Lawlor.

Games will be played over four days from Thursday July 24th to Sunday July 27th at Randall's Island.
