New York/Mayo clash set for earlier throw in

At the request of RTE television, the Connacht SFC clash between New York and Mayo will now throw in at 7.30pm.

There had been calls for the game to be shown live, but RTE's request for the earlier throw in is to facilitate their highlights of the match.

Mayo are overwhelming favourites to win the tie, but New York have in their ranks the likes of former Laois midfielder Brendan Quigley, who will captain the side, ex-Galway forward Nickey Joyce, Donegal's Ross Wherity and Offaly's Brian Connor to name just a few.

The heat could also be a factor in the match and the Connacht champions will certainly not be taking their opponents for granted.
