Moindearg club notes

March 31, 2015

The club have enjoyed a successful return to Intermediate Football winning their first two games in the Murphy Cup.

Moindearg 2-13     Cu Culainns 0-07   22nd March 2015

We played our first game of the year on Sunday the 22nd of March in Colindale. It was a good start to the year and the Murphy Cup with some great performances all over the pitch. We started strong and carried the ball well throughout the game. With some new faces having their first run out for the club it was good to dust  off the cobwebs. Good performances all round but best on the day were Barry Mc Ginely and Danny Mc Bride

Team and Scorers:

Conor Conneely, Neil O'Shea, Barry Mc Ginely (0-01), Shane Longworth, Gary Conroy, John Lynch, Shane Kelly, Michael Mc Menamin (0-01), Sean Mc Donagh (1-00), Michael Lynch, Danny Mc Bride (0-09), Ronan Conroy, Padraig Philbin (0-02), Tom Ronan, Liam Philbin (1-00). Subs: Mark Terry for Ronan Conroy H/T,  Paddy McHale for Liam Philbin, Ciaran Scullion for Tom Ronan.

Moindearg 1-12          St. Josephs 0-05   28th March 2015

An impressive team performance meant that we recorded our second win in the Murphy Cup helping us qualify for the semi-final. From the outset we played a very good brand of football moving the ball quick and with purpose.  We couldn't have started the game much better with an early goal form Alan Dunne who finished with 1-4 from play on his debut for the club. Club captain Danny Mc Bride put in another good shift with 5 points while John Lynch got a rare point which will be one for the history books. There is still a lot of training and ball work to be done over the coming weeks and months but things are looking encouraging with the full squad all playing together as a team.

Team and Scorers; Mark Terry, Neil O'Shea, Barry Mc Ginely, Shane Longworth, Gary Conroy, John Lynch (0-01), Shane Kelly, Darren Mc Gowan, Michael Mc Menamin, Conor Coneely (0-01), Danny Mc Bride (0-05), Alan Dunne (1-04), Michael Lynch, Ton Ronan, Padraig Philbin(0-01) Subs; Paul Mullins for Padraig Philbin, JT Leneghen for Mark Terry, Paddy Mc Hale for Michael Lynch.
