UK GAA fans left disappointed

August 02, 2012
Irish GAA fans in the UK are despondent over the fact that the All-Ireland SHC quarterfinals were not televised over there.

Usually, Premier Sports screens the majority of GAA matches and certainly the likes of the All-Ireland quarterfinals in both codes.

However, the satellite station decided to screen a rugby match on Sunday afternoon instead, even though they have the exclusive rights for all GAA matches shown in the UK.

Premier Sports did show the games between Cork/Waterford and Kilkenny/Limerick on their website, but few knew of this, while others hadn't the access to watch it.

A spokesman for Premier Sports stated that the incident was unfortunate but unavoidable, but stressed that the remaining championship games in hurling and football will be screened lived.
