Patrick Maher says Tipperary's hurlers are still standing.

Having helped the Premier County to their 41st Munster senior hurling championship in Thurles on Sunday, the Lorrha clubman pointed to the resilience in the squad:

"This group has been a bit unlucky but we are still standing," he told The Tipperary Star. "We took what Waterford could throw at us and we withstood it.

"We came out at the end winners, it's great. Now we are looking forward to driving on again.

"We expected a big battle to come from Waterford and they brought that. It was always tit-for-tat and it shows what the Munster championship is all about. It had everything.

"It's great to go along and play in the All-Ireland series but there's something special about the Munster championship and I think that was shown in the way the game was played."
