Fears have been expressed that a shortage of referees in Mid Tipp could lead to matches being called off.

In his report to Convention, secretary Jonathan Cullen points out that seven of the clubs in the division do not contribute referees at divisional or county level:

"If the numbers of referees in the division does not improve, it's inevitable that sooner rather than later games will not be played due to a lack of referees.

"There are currently fifteen affiliated adult clubs in Mid Tipperary but only eight clubs provide referees and, of the seven clubs who do not, three are senior clubs.

"There is no point in people complaining about the lack of referees if they themselves are not prepared to put in the work to find new volunteers," the Loughmore Castleiney man writes.
