Current Sligo footballers make their mark at college level.

There are 20 Sligo inter-county footballers featuring for colleges around the country at the moment.

Not only is this a remarkable level of players in third level education, but it also highlights the youthfulness of Niall Carew's squad, although not all are part of the senior squad at the moment.

Cian Breheny, Niall Murphy and Darragh Cummins are all part of the DCU senior panel, while Kevin McDonnell is captain of NUI Galway and Gerard O'Kelly Lynch is also part of this squad.

There are a number of players playing at Freshers level as Eddie McGuinness, Michael Gordon and Nathan Rooney are all with DCU.

Paddy O'Connor, Sean Power, Cian Lally, Joe McHugh and Aaron Kearns will all be donning the UCD jersey this year.

Maynooth have Gary Walsh lining out at full back, while IT Sligo are represented by Kyle Cawley, Liam Gaughan, Brian Mahon, Darragh Hailstones, Jack Haran and Darragh Elliott.
