Club and also served as team selector. Joe was also a noted handballer in his youth with the Collooney handball club.

The club also extended sympathy with Padraig Gorman on the death of his brother, the family of the late Dan Flynn R.I.P. Carraroe. Dan was a proud Waterford hurling man and took a keen interest in the fortunes of St. John's G.A.A. Club and to Tommy Kilcoyne on the recent death of his sister.
