The next phase of the development work at the centre of excellence at Scarden is set to begin in March.

Development Officer John McPartland told delegates that planning permission for new dressingrooms, gym and administration offices had been lodged.

"With everything going to plan, we hope to have this project ready to go in March 2015," the Sligo Champion reports McPartland as saying.

"With our main contractors, Curran Contractors coming back on site in March last, we have progressed stage by stage whereby at this time we intend to have all works in Phase 1 and Phase 2 completed by January 15th."
