Heartache spurs on Calry/St Joseph's

October 22, 2014

Calry/St Joseph's manager Noel Kearins admits that defeat in last year's county final drove them on this year.

Twelve months on from losing to Drumcliffe/Rosses Point in the intermediate football championship final, Calry/St Joseph's were back in the final and keen to make amends.

That they did, as Shamrock Gaels were put to the sword and Kearins admitted to the Sligo Champion that it a huge relief to get across the line this time around.

"This time last year we were out on the field looking up at the stand. So, it's a better feeling now looking up at the lads going to get the cup," said Kearins.

He added: "We're going to enjoy this first and then we will get back to training and give Connacht a shot."
