Intermediate Championship Round 3:
The intermediate team suffered the first defeat of their championship campaign on Saturday evening last at Quigabar. West Sligo rivals St. Patrick's provided the opposition and were ahead for the whole encounter despite a spirited second half come back from our lads. The team failed to switch on in the opening period and found themselves trailing 2-10 v 1-3 at the interval. A good second half was not enough to cause an upset and the final score was 2-15 v 2-10.
Anthony Kilcullen, John McDonnell, Patrick McGuinness, Ronan Keane, Keith Earlis, Michael Langan, Eoin Kent, Kevin McDonell(0-1), Kevin Langan(1-2), Eamonn Cawley (0-3), Jason Earlis, Eoin Flynn, Stephen Curley(0-2), Patrick Naughton(1-1), Matthew Cullen(0-1).

U-14 C Championship:
The under 14 team got their championship campaign off to a great start last Friday evening. They defeated St. Michael's 6-10 v 3-07 at Ballintogher. Every one of the starting team are underage again next year so credit is due to this very young team for putting in a heroic performance and hopefully they can continue this trend despite some tough assignments ahead.
Castleconnor started brightly but found it hard to put scores on the board despite playing with the wind. Eventually Ronan Wilson broke through a number of tackles and drove high into the Michaels net. This was followed by scores from James Tully and Oisin Flynn. At this time we lead 2-2 v 0 but we let the home team in for 1-2 in as many minutes despite a great save from Liam Donnegan. By halftime we lead 3-6 v 1-3. From the throw in Ronan Wilson drove forward and scored a goal low into the net. We built on this with a goal from Tully and from the very busy Patrick Cooney. We went to sleep and again allowed the home team in and it took some excellent defending from Matthew Blakeney, Fergal Boland, Dáire Barrins and especially Eli O'Neill managed to keep them out and breakaway scores from Andrew Blakeney and Brian Durkan calmed the nerves as we ran out winners 6-10 v 3-7.

The promotion to the top flight division for championship is proving to be a real test however the lads never gave up and their next match is an away fixture to Tubbercurry/Cloonacool.
Team: Kenneth Flynn, Conor Gallagher, James Boland, Benny Foody, Cian Barrins, Keith Foody, Jason Earlis (captain) (0-1), Jack O'Hora (0-5), Micheal Cahill (0-1), Stephen Durkan (0-1), Sean Carrabine (0-2), Paul Flynn, Danny O'HoraSubs: Lewis Beardshall, Enda Kilcullen, Odhran Quinn
