Former Mayo midfielder Pat Harte has ruled out the possibility of swapping the green and red for the black and white of Sligo.

The 2005 All-Ireland club medalist recently completed a club transfer from Ballina Stephenites to Tourlestrane but he has no intention of trying to resurrect his intercounty career with the Yeats County.

"I'm 32 now so my best football days are behind me," Harte - who was a regular on the Mayo panel from 2003 to 2012 - outlined to the Irish Daily Star.

"I travel a lot in my work - both in Ireland and abroad and that doesn't help my football career.

"That has been the pattern for the last five to six years, and it made things very difficult for me when I was playing with Mayo.

"In fact, not only will I not be putting my name forward for consideration for the Sligo team, I'll probably have my work cut out to make the Tourlestrane team.

"I've already played one game with Tourlestrane, but that was in the league and there'll be a lot more competition for places when the championship comes around."
